It makes sense if he's sure he never wants kids, not because of RvW.

[–]mimiczx[S] 21 points22 points23 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

On top of that he's in Canada.

[–]the-lone-squid 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Maybe he goes to the states allot and doesn’t want to risk child support now

[–]Ownyourfreedom 33 points34 points35 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What a dumb article. If anything, (other then already having kids) men get vasectomy's because the family courts are so corrupt and biased against men.

TIL Montreal is in the US

[–]bsee_xflds 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Jeopardy’s computer “Watson” figured that out years ago.

[–]annierosewood 29 points30 points31 points 4 years ago (23 children) | Copy Link

It's not that tough to keep it in your pants. That goes for women as well as men. Everyone upset about the RvW decision acts like getting pregnant is something unavoidable. This guy is stupid.

[–]mimiczx[S] 18 points19 points20 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Easy lead candidate for Simp/Sucker of the year.

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link

I think it's less about keeping it in your pants and more about being responsible with birth control and condoms. I'm cool with whatever it is folks do in their bedrooms, just take precautions so the taxpayers don't have to subsidize your kids one day.

Allow abortions and we won’t be burdened with unwanted kids and forced births.

Edit: This 10 year old should take accountability right?

There’s been an arrest made regarding this girl.

An Ohio state law went into effect July 2019 which makes abortion illegal after the fetus heartbeat can be detected, which usually develops between five or six weeks after conception. No exceptions are made for "hard cases" such as rape, incest, or a fetus determined to possibly have down syndrome. The only "hard case" exception, according to ORC 2919.193(B) are in cases in which there is a medical emergency, defined in 2919.16(F) & (K): "serious risk of the substantial and irreversible impairment of a major bodily function of the pregnant woman." This does not include potential bodily damage that stems from the woman's mental health.

A 10 year old does not automatically have an exemption if raped.

Or take accountability for your actions and be responsible. My husband and I didn't want anymore kids after our youngest was born. We have never used birth control and somehow we managed to stop have kids when we wanted to. Accountability and responsibility. Society really needs a lot more of those things.

[–]Squaredigit -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Wtf kind of comment is this? Stopped having kids when you wanted to, without birth control? Are you totally abstinent with your spouse now? I can’t even wrap my head around what you wrote here except to imagine you swallowing all the time.

[–]annierosewood 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Has no one ever heard of the rhythm method?

[–]pappo4ever 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Its incredible what you can do with some sexual education and information, see? women are fertile for a very small period of time.

[–]crypticsage -4 points-3 points-2 points 4 years ago* (10 children) | Copy Link

Or allow abortion since you can never account for all the reasons one might need one.

Fake story. It's been proven. And that state still allows abortions in that situation.

[–]crypticsage 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

There’s been an arrest made and you’re claiming it’s fake?

[–]Smitty1017 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I stand corrected I suppose. That contradicts the story I read yesterday.

[–]reverbiscrap -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Where did you see the story?

[–]Smitty1017 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I don't remember but it makes sense now that I know the guy was an illegal immigrant. It may explain why they left the state when they didn't need to, and also why law enforcement was not informed when legally they should have been by the doctor.

[–]annierosewood -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Um you know that Ohio allows for abortions in that situation, right?

This 10 year old had no choice in the matter. It was unavoidable for her.

There’s been an arrest made regarding this girl in case you really believe it’s fake.

Good thing your mom didn't believe in abortion, amirite?

[–]crypticsage -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If she did so what? I wouldn’t have known about it.

She chose to have me. Many girls and women didn’t, like yours.

I got mine when I was 27 and haven’t regretted it yet. I’ve had a couple of exes try to baby trap with other men’s kids.

[–]pappo4ever 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

isnt easier to just do a DNA test?

[–]Warder766312 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I’ve had a few friends get put as the father and never get told till it goes to court since if she applies for benefits than she has to name a father. I’d prefer to not bother going through that

Imagine being that dumb, to damage your own fertility to support who couldn't care less about your rights. Good riddance.

[–]pappo4ever 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I laugh when people remove themselves from the gene pool. The future will be less like them, and more like me.

It's fine not having kids. I will have the kids, they will be mine, and will look like me (I already have some, they are all great and they think I'm the best dad)

[–]TFME1 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why the hell do I care what some moron in Montreal did, in reaction to changes in US law that don't even affect him directly?

By the way, men DO have and DO use contraceptives. They're called condoms and while they do have a failure rate, it's like 5 - 10% if my memory serves correctly. Of course, it's like the lottery... You can't win if you don't play. If they aren't used, their failure rate jumps to 100%. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

This boils down to human failures in choices, as a far greater contributor to unwanted pregnancy than any failure of contraceptives.

By the way, there are like a dozen contraceptives on the market now, specifically for women, that don't require a woman to take a monthly pill that can cause health issues with long-term use.

This kid is a moron. I've already forgotten his opinion, because it was so moronically stupid. He should keep his opinion on his side of the border and deal with his own country's moronic leadership.

[–]TextDependent6779 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

i wanted to get a vasectomy to show contraception isn't just a woman's responsibility.

have fun being sterile. while women have like 10x the options men have, you bet your ass they're primarily responsible for contraception. though yes, guys should wear a condom too, women should take accountability for not wearing condoms, having sex without one, not using an IUD, getting an injection, taking the pill, and not planning around their fertility cycle (and anything else i might have missed). it might not be only women's responsibility, but they certainly have the most power to change things.

I'll skip over abstinence and tube tying, because i think neither are valid forms of contraception. sex should not be life changing and we shouldn't be encouraging people to sterilise themselves as contraception. just wish people would stop telling me to get a vasectomy if im worried about child support.

[–]Koda1214 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Well each to there own so long as it does not become expected for men to do this. I regard a vasectomy as sterilisation not a form of birth control.

[–]TextDependent6779 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

as you should, because it is.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I guess this is the new winner of the darwin award.

Self-removal from the gene pool.
