Tidiness preferences. My LTR is a clean as you go person and I am sadly not.

Also.... Please please please start a savings account and put money into it every paycheck. This is your personal private emergency fund. It would be enough money to get you into your own apartment if the relationship failed. So think first months rent, deposit, last months rent, and gas/grocery money for a month. Or down the line.....you can use for down payment or the wedding! Don't put his name on this account ever! It's yours.

But I am a big advocate of having a random 5k saved up for any woman through her life. Just as a financial protection.

how often/ long to host houseguests & hosting etiquette (I found out my partner expects guests to pitch in for chores/ expenses, etc, whereas my attitude is that guests should be able to enjoy themselves as if they are on vacation)
family policies (do you visit family often/ host often?)
pets/ no pets
hobby organization + budgeting
lifestyle values (experiences/ travel vs higher quality of life at home like nice apt and nice things)
career goals (ambitious goals translate to not much time at home)

Lots of great questions here so far. Adding a few:

Where will you live? His place, yours, or a place you find together? If it’s a new place, what is most important to each of you, and what are each of you willing to compromise on? Are either of you planning on buying a house in the future, or are you okay with renting?

Where does he see himself living long term? In the same city, somewhere else? Does he want to stay close to family (if that’s where you are now)? Would moving for work be a possibility in his future and would you be able/comfortable to move with him?

How will you split holidays between your families? How involved will your families be in your lives? How often will you see friends? How will you handle alone time, or what are each of your expectations for amount/quality of time spent together? Pets or no pets, and if so, what kind? How will you divide/handle care for them?

Whose furniture/dishes/etc. will you be using? Where will each of your clothes go? How much space will each of you have in the shared space? How will you handle any future big purchases? How will you split bills? What do each of you prefer to spend your money on?

What are your sleep schedules like, and are they compatible? How do your work schedules line up, and does that have an impact on dinner/other plans? Who cooks? How will you do groceries (as needed or a big weekly/bi-weekly shop)?

I’m moving in with my boyfriend in a month and these are some of the things that have come up!
