It's real easy:

Rule 1. Funding for women is equality if the women get special treatment.

The UK doesn't really have any overarching equality law now it's left the EU so far as I know. It's a fuck all men free for all. Some of the funding stuff references an EU law but

Apparently the UK needs a law against discrimination based on sex. Good luck in this environment. It is illegal in the US and if you fight it, as the National Coalition for Men has, you usually win.

It is discrimination and illegal. The issue is, who is going to challenge it? I doubt any organisation will bother with this, feminists certainly won’t.
