My catholic religion teacher used to talk about how the husband is supposed to be the head of the household; if the husband and wife can’t agree on an issue, then she has to just acquiesce to him because “someone has to be the leader and God decided that it’s the man”.

Any pushback to this idea, i.e. what if he doesn’t know what’s best, what if he has substance issues, what if he is abusive, etc any number of reasons he might not be the ideal decision-maker was just met with a naive “weLL tHaT’s nOt GoNnA hApPeN, tHe mAn ALwAyS kNoWs bEsT”. Basically “obey your husband because I said so”.

Religion in a nutshell. Naive, stubborn adherence to tradition, with zero nuance or critical thought.

Churches pressures women to submit and if the man sucks it’s her fault somehow. Religion should never be part of a woman’s life. Only men benefits from Christianity.
