the white feather campaign

i have discovered about the white feather campaign and the white feather girls. pretty shocking stuff.

you can search for it but the summary is and what basically happened is that the british army lacked soldiers in ww1 and to add more soldiers they needed to shame young men into service so they had women giving them white feathers (a sympol of cowardice) to shame them into enlisting in the army. shaming young men into doing something they wouldn't do themselves.
