Here in Switzerland dads only had 1 day off until recently (2020) when it was changed to 2 weeks.

Switzerland is archaic when it comes to equality or any help for men / families.

It's two weeks in Australia too. I think standard maternity leave is 18 weeks. Feminists will complain that men don't contribute to family duties but will never advocate for increased paternity leave

Your employer should not reward you with time off just because you didn't want to wear a condom. I can kinda understand why women would need time off to recover from giving birth, but men don't need that.

India's federal and most state governments allow married male employees to take a fortnight's leave at the time of, or within six months after, the birth of a child. In comparison, Indian women working in state-run and private companies are entitled to 26 weeks of paid leave, one of the longest in the world.

Of course the leave should be paid the government by it is generally met by the employer. Here, in Australia, the government treat companies like a bottomless pit to fill the shortfalls of government social services and the cost presented to employers for maternity leave is extreme. There is the tendency to present companies as all being multi-nationals with buckets of money but actually there is a lot of small businesses that suffer when these sort of entitlements are added into the endless mix of costs that employers must bear
