As a gay guy, whenever a MRA says we're disgusting/repulsive, it puts me off and makes me want to leave the general men's rights movement.

Normalize how? I see the normalization of LGBT eroding massively thanks to feminist support of queer culture.

Most people who believe things because they are true and not because other people believe them are idiots. All people who believe things because it feels good to be like/unlike other people are idiots.

The corollary: having shared beliefs about what is true probably is a bad reason to hang out with people who are uncomfortable (at best) around you.

I don't know about others here, but I don't think that you should 'pick a side' based on how people make you feel, specifically as a gay man. Though I'm sorry to hear that's your experience. I think that you should be an advocate for men and women's rights equally, and avoid falling into ideological camps.

Men do tend to be less comfortable with homosexuality than women do. It could be due to women perceiving gay men as 'less risky' to be around than straight men, which affords a certain comfort. And Lesbian women get a pass from both genders in comparison to gay men, as far as people being uncomfortable around the topic of sexuality. There is a significant pressure for men to be overly masculine/display machismo, in which case, the gender roles of gay relationships can be particularly confusing. I don't think that this is a group which condones the existence of gender roles that cause that issue, though.
