"#MeToo is over if we don’t listen to ‘imperfect victims’ like Amber Heard"; Gross article denies Men can be victims of abuse & encourages people to never believe Men. Individuals such as this are why so many Men feel uncomfortable about opening up or seeking support.

Canada is one of those countries where MRA movements need to grow strong against misandry and the discrimination of boys and men. Apparently, lots of English speaking countries share the same problems with systemic misandry

[–]Jacklshere 29 points30 points31 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Most of the world fucks men over in one way or another. At this point the only hope is making a new country.

[–]Drakethepirate 18 points19 points20 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, for example the military drafting weighing on men's shoulders

[–]lUl9549 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I'm Canadian and agree with this so much. It's fucked up

[–]Drakethepirate 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Bless you, my brother. We stand united for the cause

[–]equalRights111 108 points109 points110 points 3 years ago (34 children) | Copy Link

Time to identify as non-binary I guess.

Seriously though, that might not be a bad idea. Identify as non-binary, or if necessary, a woman. There aren’t any male-only policies or programmes (as far as I am aware) so it can’t hurt. Perhaps, if everyone does it, that will make them realise how silly this all is.

I suppose non-binary is the safest option, because you can’t be excluded from either option!

[–]Jacklshere 49 points50 points51 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Reminds me of a guy that got his gender changed on paper because men had to pay more for car insurance.

[–]Fresque 28 points29 points30 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Sergia, I'm my country women retire 5 years earlier so the dude got his gender changed on paper and by law no one can question it so he got retired at 60 instead of 65.

[–]Ahielia 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

There was also the guy in Switzerland (?) that changed to female so he could retire earlier.

[–]Halafax 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Makes you wonder if that's why Switzerland finally equalized the retirement age.

[–]Ahielia 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's not really equal, is it? Men on average live shorter lives than women so they have a shorter retirement, on average. Men should retire earlier if it was supposed to be "equal".

No such thing as acting like a man. You mean masculine.

[–]HyakuBikki 33 points34 points35 points 3 years ago (20 children) | Copy Link

Makes me wonder how many mtf trans do it just to avoid the constant negative stigma around being a man and they can finally recieve some social acceptance for once.

It's way more than that, it's a part of it, but it's way more.

There are countries where its illegal to be gay or trans. Some of them have the death penalty for that "sin". Countries that recently have revoked laws like that still have abnormally high murder rates of people that fall in that category.

Trans and gays live in fear of how others will react to them and have to force themselves to conform to a "normal" life.

Even countries like America, the most freedom fucked place on earth, has a massive political group called conservatives that loath trans and gays calling them pedophile demon worshipers with mental diseases.

Trans people are trying to cope with gender dysphoria and you think they want to "escape the stigmatisation of being male"?

Trans people are trying to cope with gender dysphoria

You're kind of out of date. It's now transphobic to think you need dysphoria to be trans.

1) many places it won't matter cuz you can't update your gender marker unless you find out you are intersex 2) many of these programs only accept Afab non binary people.............. Which is very terfy

I wonder if this program will do what so many “women in tech” programs in the US do and accept trans men in violation of their own terms. These people have a very interesting definition of “inclusion.”

[–]Merebankguy 28 points29 points30 points 3 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

I'm not surprised, isn't in Canada where the feminists marched and protested a mens group meeting for men suffering from depression

[–]BlockAccount 11 points12 points13 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I know exactly what you're talking about. The original vid was removed from YouTube and I can't find it anywhere.

I THINK it's where the famous clip of a girl repeatedly telling a guy "you are scum" over and over again while he tries to ignore her during a protest originated from. Could be wrong though.

[–]_BlueShark87 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Oh it was in a warren Farrell talk about men on a college campus. You know what happens from there.

[–]BlockAccount 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

https://youtu.be/AoFV6_ihgoQ

Thank you so much! Finally found a vid that shows it at the end. Totally forgot about the girl who couldn't comprehend why MRAs wanted their own space to talk about male suicide and depression instead of the gynocentric spaces she frequents.

Well Karen, maybe it's because you and your goons are willing to protest talks about men's mental health and harass young men who are just looking for answers. What a narcissist.

I'm very curious to see the result of this program in a couple years aka how many of the students who took part in it go on to pursue a career in IT Sec.

[–]NoCommunication5976 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Probably less than 3%

[–]The_Namez_B 15 points16 points17 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

As a techie myself, really people? We can’t have a open program for whosever interested. It has to be gendered? If I was teaching it, I’d want to have any student come and learn if that’s something they’re really interested in. Male and female.

Also, umm there’s no such thing as non-binary, honey. I think they need to go back to biology class before going into Cybersecurity. Just sayin’.

[–]ndhl83 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

At least as far as Canada is concerned they have 2 existing ones that are open to all, according to the article...this new one seems to be about 700 spots specifically for women.

I don't think this is as egregious as they are trying to make it sound, especially in light of the existence of the other programs. I think it is often overlooked that these types of entrance programs are to encourage people to enter a field they may not otherwise. The IT profession, in all categories, is dominated by us males. If we need more people, overall, we need to recruit from anywhere we can. If men were enough to fill the need we would not have an issue, right? If women aren't signing up (but should be, based on talent, interest, and need) and we need more people than we have/projected to have then we need to get them signing up, too...because we, men, are already present in droves and apparently that isn't enough. That's my take, anyway.

[–]Halafax 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

My daughter has never, absolutely never, been denied opportunities.

My son has. No apologies, no alternatives, just "no".

That's feminism for you.

[–]Kenneth_raps 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

So according to them non binary=girls?

[–]Quix_Nix 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Don't worry about, just wait because if you are AMAB and non-binary they won't let you into many of these things.

Further supporting my theory that all feminists are secreted terfs

[–]duckyboys8 17 points18 points19 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Who knows wtf going on in canada

[–]NoCommunication5976 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So we’re going back to the classic elementary school “no boys allowed” stuff? Feminists need to grow up

[–]ERiC_693 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

These are absolutely everywhere. In UK there's plenty of them. None to get boys into healthcare/biology/social work/teaching. This is literally the privileged group (girls) being pandered to as they come from a school system run by their own sex and have higher grades so will be accepted into CompSci/Engineering anyway.

The Lawyer Mark Perry took a course in East Michigan University to court when he saw Digital Divas set up. They had to create a separate one called "Digital Dudes" as it was illegal to have one for girls only under title IX. These are litterally everywhere and it's disgusting as minority boys (migrant/BAME/Working class etc..) boys who don't go into compsci are blocked. It really is discrimination and segregation by these regressive feminist/woke groups.

So much for equality.

[–]mrmensplights 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The pronounced shortage of qualified cybersecurity personnel is a problem that the entire world is facing, and many countries are instituting new initiatives to attempt to close the workforce shortage gap as quickly as possible.

[...]

"No Boys Allowed"

Hmm. Damn, if the shortage is so pronounced you'd think they'd take all comers!

Alternative title: "In which the group that already has already been given all the advantages in education continues to get all the advantages in education."

[–]Quix_Nix 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I fucking love how the parent site tagged this as transgender because some trans people are involved. Canada is drunk. I can't believe this will get past anti discrimination laws

[–]MMPiper 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Canada keeps disappointing… I guess it’s time for some strong, positive masculinity.

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Men deserve it. When you let your enemies have all kinds of power, then this happens. Men do not see women dangerous (even neo nazis, communists, alt rights, those kinds of radical guys do not believe women can be a danger), and they let this happen.

Women are not the people who protect their society and country. Men deserve this kind of treatment. They were too stupid, and stupidity of believing them costs your freedom and life. So yeah deal with it.

Stronger women make better wives & mothers. Teach daughters and sons good. … It made want to be a better man.

[–]Snivelingincel 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

The approach to creating stronger women isn’t discriminating against young boys

[–]Albertsongman -4 points-3 points-2 points 3 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

America has Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. … Give it a rest. … Men can take care of themselves in general. Females are more vulnerable and their window for true contribution is shorter than men. They have painful, monthly reminders of their sex. They carry child, birth them and can die from it. … Men that are butt hurt about everything that women have to their advantage aren’t men. … Accept that men have their advantages & disadvantages , … and that women have theirs too. … Being pissed off for how another group in society is is pointless & futile. … Change the script from anger to appreciation.

[–]redditdawtcom 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Go lecture a feminist with your broken english and poor grammar. Why are people so much more comfortable lecturing MRAs than they are lecturing feminists? That's the real BS here.

Let them have it. Who cares? … Work on yourself. … Be a better man by being better than who you were yesterday. … That’s being a good example of a human for all.

[–]Snivelingincel 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

What you are engaging in is called benevolent sexism.

By your definition feminism shouldn’t exist and all that anger directed at men should be changed to appreciation for literally building civilization

[–]Albertsongman -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I’m into humanism. … Let’s stop picking enemies. … You either behave like a human or you behave inhumane. Period. …

[–]Snivelingincel 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Glad you think depriving young boys of educational opportunities is humane

[–]Albertsongman 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You want women to make up a curriculum to train boys? … That’s a man’s job. … Sometimes it’s good not to be invited to a party. Looking for a reason to complain is not a manly thing to do.

[–]Snivelingincel 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well historically women do a bad job so I will agree men are better fit for that role. What I will disagree with is that not being invited to a party is good, when this “party” is growing to encompass politics which actively seek to reduce the male presence in society. Boys already get scored worse than girls throughout school at equal competence. This has a tangible effect on their future opportunities, and has been having this effect for a long time and will continue to do so if no awareness is brought to the topic. In fact, articles like this show it’s only getting worse. No one is complaining they aren’t allowed in the girls club, men are bringing awareness to the fact systems that oppress men and boys are largely ignored and this attitude has been allowed to fester until it turns into outright vitriol towards them. Even when the attitude is baseless.

It’s about not giving an inch to the attitude that men are the reason women aren’t succeeding in these fields to the same degree. That attitude is unjustified and indefensible and deserves the proper response when the US Commerce Secretary says “We’re not going to find 700,000 people if we’re only looking for white men.” That rhetoric deserves a response.

You confuse justified outrage with complaining and that type of ignorance is the reason men are facing so many unaddressed problems in society. You ignore the fact men ALREADY DON’T complain and historically NEVER HAVE. But when society (women) begin to direct unjustified attacks on young boys and men it’s time to speak out. Women do not deserve that attitude towards men and your solution is that men continue to lay down and take it.

What I will agree with is that men will ultimately solve the problem themselves, but doing so begins with awareness that the problems exists. Too many men historically have ignored those problems and look where that’s gotten us.

[–]Snivelingincel -2 points-1 points0 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

A masculine woman can make a good wife and mother. Things that make someone a bad wife and mother are weakness and stupidity. Your argument doesn’t even make sense. If men are so great and also capable of the full range of human expression, why would having two of that influence = bad?
