Fertile women were particularly sexually attracted to arrogant, confrontational, unfaithful, muscular, tall, and physically attractive men. Female fertility did not influence the attraction to financial success, intelligence, and kindness.

Women and their parents indicated that ambition and intelligence were more important than physical attractiveness for a long-term mate. However, both daughters (68.7%) and their parents (63.3%) chose the more attractive man as the best long-term partner for mating, regardless of his ascribed traits.

Women view taller men as more physically attractive, more masculine, and having a greater fighting ability. Higher shoulder-to-hip ratios were rated as more attractive in taller men but did not influence attractiveness ratings for shorter men.

How does being short negatively affect women?

Do men prefer tall women? Are shorter women less likely to have children? Are women expected to be able to defend themselves or their partner so being short is a disadvantage? No, all of these are a short man's plight.

I brought this up on /r/short and it immediately got deleted.

Do men prefer tall women?

Taller women (170 to 180 cm) are objectively preferable, but due to Juggernaut law, shorter women are approached more frequently by the majority of men.

Since when?

[–]RSDevotion1[S] 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Observably, for the last century (although the average human height has been increasing) through the fashion and entertainment industry.

[–]SwansonSamsonite 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

What does this have to do with what men prefer?

[–]RSDevotion1[S] 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

The fashion and entertainment industries are marketed toward both men and women.

Alright in this specific industry taller women are preferred. So what? You also can't be an astronaut if you're too tall, does that mean that tall people are treated worse? There are countless other examples like this.

Evolutionarily, above-average leg length is associated with higher fitness.

The thing is, men are the ones who are being selected for height, not women. There is a study on this sub which says men prefer women 7cm shorter than themselves while women prefer men 25cm taller.

Alright in this specific industry taller women are preferred.

This "specific" industry is a billion-dollar one that specifically markets toward what people (of both sexes) find objectively attractive.

The thing is, men are the ones who are being selected for height, not women.

Men being much more strongly selected for height does not mean that taller women are not more attractive. This is the basis of Bateman's principle (and more recently, Juggernaut law, as I already mentioned).

There is a study on this sub which says men prefer women 7cm shorter than themselves while women prefer men 25cm taller.

Which suggests that men who are at least 183 cm tall would, on average, prefer women who are taller than 170 cm.

That is like top 10%. What about other 90%?

Come on, do you seriously believe that for women <170, their height will affect their ability to find a man in the slightest? How many couples do you see where the man is taller and how many where the woman is taller?

[–]RSDevotion1[S] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

That is like top 10%. What about other 90%?

Men are strongly sexually selected for height, thus the top percentiles are deemed to be more desirable than the bottom, majority percentiles.

Come on, do you seriously believe that for women <170, their height will affect their ability to find a man in the slightest?

No to finding a man in general, unless the woman is an abnormally low percentile height. Yes to finding a man of higher value.

How many couples do you see where the man is taller and how many where the woman is taller?

I see more where the man is taller, because, as the title says; 84% of women reported wanting a taller partner. And the average man is 14 cm taller than the average woman.

Loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool. Maybe they see themselves as smaller men in spirit, because as we all know short men wear the brunt of such abuse in this world.

And neither did I. It's just that as much discrimination exists against short women in the modeling industry, more discrimination exists against men who are average height and shorter inside and nearly everywhere outside of the modeling industry.

Being tall is a requirement to do profesional modeling.

Because it's more attractive.

Outside of modeling men don't mind if you are shorter than 170.

That depends on the man. Taller women tend to have better options.

[–]NationalistGoy 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago* (6 children) | Copy Link

Because it's more attractive.

Being slim is obejectively more attractive than being fat, despite this we have what's called plus size modelling.

Are women going to boycott the modelling industry for not creating a short size modelling category? Don't think so.

That depends on the man. Taller women tend to have better options.

Taller women have LESS options and it is not for the reasons you think.

Tall women have less options because they want men taller than they are.

A 5'5" woman will date men 5'6" or taller. A 6'0" woman will try to date men 6'1" or taller. So a short woman has a wider range of men she would date.

Tall women, say 6'2" and above, have it the worst since men taller than 6'2" are very rare, tall women realize there is a shortage of men taller than they are and just date the most confident man they can find. Here is a graph for height distribution, men are blue, women are red.

Fatter and shorter models exist, but they do not make as much money, on average, as leaner and taller models.

Taller women have LESS options and it is not for the reasons you think.

I'm well aware of why taller women have a smaller pool of candidates (due to their own preferences). Your poor reading comprehension is causing you to conflate the concepts of quality and quantity.

I'm well aware of why taller women have a smaller pool of candidates (due to their own preferences).

Then your argument "Taller women tend to have better options" is false.

Your poor reading comprehension is causing you to conflate the concepts of quality and quantity.

Being a tall as a man (let's say 6'2") raises your value, but it doesn't necessarily mean your are BETTER, than shorter men. You could be a 6'2", a bum, no goals in life, no education, low wage job, socially inept, etc. Or you could be 5'8" have a masters degree, your own business, be confident, black belt in any martial arts, have high status, have social connections, be a well mannered and well spoken man. I know which one I would rather be. Height is just one factor in the whole equation.

Then your argument "Taller women tend to have better options" is false.

No, because being more approachable to shorter men is not an indication of access to better quality.

I agree that it's a bigger issue on average for men, but that doesn't mean it can't be an issue for women. Furthermore aren't you insulting a majority shorter women, (according to this study), by laughing at them and calling them smaller men in spirit? You're validating their points yourself.

This is no different than a woman saying men don't have a right to be upset about gender disparities against them because women have historically had it worse. It's not an argument, the two are unrelated.

Water is actually not wet; It makes other materials/objects wet. Wetness is the state of a non-liquid when a liquid adheres to, and/or permeates its substance while maintaining chemically distinct structures. So if we say something is wet we mean the liquid is sticking to the object.

Holly shit. I'm 5'9'' lady and I honestly wish I was smaller! Tall women usually don't get the same attention, men like to keep women that they can protect, that have something delicate about them, and when you're tall is not impossible but is harder to appear delicate.

[–]ArjunZxyagent47 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

Men are okay with women being tall. But, they reject themselves assuming that the woman would go for a taller man.

I'm 5ft 10in, I went on a date with a girl who's 5ft 8in. The date went okay. I asked her the same, she replied to other messages while ignoring this one. I don't see high interest from her for sure, and I might even get replaced when a taller man comes along.

[–]Born_Section2687 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

5'10" Is a good height! I date men of my height or above, I had a fling with men that were slightly shorter, but to be honest, I couldn't feel the same attraction as I feel from men of my height and above. I try to see other aspects like personality compatibility and if their faces and bodies are in good shape. I go gym, I've always been in good shape and I'm also seen as conventionaly attractive, so it's fair for them and for me. When you get in a certain age you start to be more grounded about the type of partner that suits you and your life style.

[–]ArjunZxyagent47 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

My parents are vegetarian, so I grew up without meat. I wish I could go back and eat meat. In my experience, 5'10'' is like the passing grade. Thank god, I didn't fall any further down. It's already very very hard for me.

I'm curious how you came across the Blackpill? I've never really cared about how I look. They say, you don't search for the Blackpill, it comes searching for you. Meaning that unattractive people are forced to come to this harsh reality despite doing everything right. And attractive people can continue with their delusion that it was their kindness that yielded them the results.

[–]Born_Section2687 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

I came across blackpill and red pill after a heartbreak. I was very insecure, not about my appearance but my behavior. I realized that some things that Redpill bring talks more about being reactive instead of solving insecurities, then some of those contents mentioned the blackpill and I was curious, I saw a LOT of glow up and maxing appearance content, it interested me a lot since they had a database trying to point things that are preferable to the dating scene and what type of people could have more targets than others. And now, here I am.

[–]ArjunZxyagent47 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Ok. Is there Blackpill content catering specifically towards women?

I was wondering that given it's much much harder for a man to be desirable in the eyes of a woman than vice versa, will we see parents (who're Blackpilled) giving birth to more girl children? Unless, of course they belong to a extremely well to do family with good genetics as well.

[–]Born_Section2687 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago* (8 children) | Copy Link

Not at all! That's why I'm here... There is no blackpilled women content. The best thing I could find was on "true rate me" and "QOVES" content (for the physical features theory). But I had to do a very deep research and study my own features A LOT, not only the physical ones, but also questioning my emotional intelligence and knowledge to to know what i can do in the future to look better as I am. I discovered that: 1. You won't look like the golden ratio mask of perfect beauty, but you can get really close with soft and hard maxxing. It depends more of your cranial format - consider anthropology - than you think, but most of the things could be changed. Beauty is more abouth harmony and familiarity than full symmetry. 2. Some of the features of this masks don't suit well both genders, when I saw the video of the "photoshop surgeon", I realized that the mask, even having a masculine and a feminine design were completely androgynous. 3. QOVES is an amazing creator, he showed things about the golden ratio mask and the characteristics that make it androgenous and unachievable at some point. 4. You should take care of your mental health exercising your body (hit gym) and practicing stoicism. Why? It will give you a base to overcome your insecurities, sometimes, blackpill get too toxic, so take care of yourself. I love this two quotes, they gave me the key to be in peace with myself: "It is a shame for a men to grow old without knowing the beauty of what his body is capable of" and "the society that separates its scholars from its warriors will have its thinking done by cowards and its fighting by fools". We have to achieve better aesthetic, strength of our bodies, our minds and souls. 5. Read the Bible and study the Roman empire...even if you are an atheist. It might sound wierd, but there is a lot of wisdom there to be shared. Know the history of humanity is also helping you to look forward and become better inside out, and obviously, more interesting to interact. 6. Keep looking for those studies like this one we are interacting by comments, those data helps a lot to predict human behavior, since some of those things that are in us came from a combination of the evolutionary behaviour (what makes us animals) and social movements (all the influence we are exposed nowadays). I really like to see Jordan Peterson content, because he uses the combination of all of the following items above on his speech like: how men react to attractive women, how woman behave to a social economic position of men that could possibly be her partner on a long term relationship, how our brains are wired to work on a relationship and the gender differences that we should comprehend to live in our society. 7. Know where you are going to invest your money and time. I have three deal breakers for the dating scene: the first is the level of attractiveness, do we looksmatch? The second is loyalty, of course, because if this person had at least in touch with his own essence using this knowledge of philosophy, psychology and self development, he will develop a very strong sense of loyalty and be sure I am the partner that matches his lifestyle, because believe it or not, love is a rational choice, but passion and lust isn't. The third one is generosity, people who are generous with others tend to creat better opportunities to themselves and protect people around them, rather with financial resources, or with the negotiating capability. So before rushing into a relationship, work really hard on yourself. The maxxing journey is more than achieve the beauty standards, it's a whole package of full challenges inside out, knowing well your darkest and lightest side and tendencies. - Now the other question: Absolutely not! I can see more people that won't invest on the items i told you above, going for maxxing only their financial situation to maxxing appearance and getting extremely frustrated, because they should be working all of the things together. This is a full journey of development for me, and having all of this knowledge helps me to look out for all of this in a healthy way. Sorry for the size of my answer. I took a long way respond, but had to put this brainstorm out. Sometimes, things are more complex that we think it is. Both genders are drawn to that and for a very simple and obvious reason: beauty matters? Yes! But you can't put all your success chances only in the "beauty box". It helps but doesn't solve problems.

[–]ArjunZxyagent47 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Hey, I appreciate the well-thought-out response. I don't see why women need a blackpill. Women are more concerned with looks (women are more easily disgusted than men) than men are. It's just that women have to select from a wide array of attributes (protect, provide, loyalty, good father traits, etc) so they end up settling.

Men find most women attractive. But, women find only a few men attractive. So, after a woman gets with a man, she has to exude her respect, loyalty, and kindness for her man while maintaining her looks. Looks are just the primary criteria. After passing that criteria, other preferences begin to matter.

I however disagree with the blackpill on a societal level.

There is no perfect man or woman. A highly attractive man that's smart and industrious doesn't exist. Tony stark is only fiction. I would say the more attractive the person, the lower their IQ. That's because nature tries to regress genetic features to the mean. If you've read Malcolm Gladwell's David and Goliath, he talks about the disadvantages of advantages and the advantages of disadvantages.

Men have had extreme selection pressures (being able to survive, protect and provide for the family) in the past. Women have always had just one - sexual selection. And, it works because women just make babies and help around. In fact, women with lower IQs have much higher reproductive success than higher IQ women. So, women can afford to be dumb and useless, and still be prided on their looks; but a man can't be dumb or useless.

Given that looks are objective, if people get with other people solely for their looks then the genetic pool of our society will become homogenous. And, attractive people actually have no inherent value. They don't contribute to a society. They're valuable only in a highly developed society where looks are the only differentiator.

So, if society follows the blackpill, we might have lots of Justin Bieber types walking around. Women will lust over them, however, they won't be able to maintain a functioning society. And then a neighboring civilization, of average-looking but highly industrious men will take over.

Thanks for considering my answer, but now I see a more strong reason for woman to be in touch with the blackpill as much as men with all the considerations our comments and thoughts brings up to the discussion. They could be more aware and considering with men an their efforts to society service and also aquire more depth of personality and essence, and men more aware of their looks. Our opinions reached one point in common: we shouldn't be utilitarian in terms of: attractiveness, intelligence (emotional and academical), strength and absolutely more in touch with our values to build wisdom and a legacy.

Update: She rejected me. But, I don't think it was my height. Sure, being taller and more good looking would've sealed the deal, but my social skills were lack luster.

The Blackpill community is obsessed over the halo effect. Getting things that you don't deserve because of your height, looks etc. But, I'm happy to be in a position where I work hard to get things to go my way.

I agree that attraction is the base of a relationship between a man and a woman. However, once you're sufficiently attractive, you should focus on other skills to make yourself valuable to your partner. No matter how pretty you get, men will be interested in fucking with other even average women. Because, men aren't hypergamous, they don't want the prettiest woman on the planet, it's just that pretty women are hard to get and men like competition. Men are polygamous by nature.

Unless the goal is to get more swipes on Tinder and more hookups, focusing on looks after having crossed a threshold is pointless.

It helps to be ridiculously small boned and thin. I look like a fragile baby giraffe.

Well, I'm thin! But I'm going gym because I think female bodies with some curves or voluptuous are more interesting.

Being taller and also being feminine will get the attention of many men.
Sifting through the weirdos to find a good man might be a task, yet it is one that can be accomplished if you respect yourself first.

The biggest issue for men is finding a woman amongst all the german shepards in a dress.

For you a challenge would be to ignore the advice of the tradwife grifters and to find the real women who could be good role models.

I think there is no one more fascinated for being in tune with my feminine-self. And I'm not even talking about summer dresses, nails, lashes and stuff. I'm talking about something almost spiritual...being nurturing, a body language that pull people closer, something that triggers to intimacy...but real intimacy...not sex. Learn to be light, graceful and soft as a feather but resilient when i need to be.

Sounds like you're well in your way to living a full life, and being a great example of where women's strength can truly benefit the world around you

The kind of gay shit that worms it's way into your mind and interrupts your day at the least opportune moment.
