This has already been discussed ad nauseum. Book "Women who love men who kill" was a compreehnsive study of this and celarly shows a pattern of abuse among the women who engage in this sort of abherrant behavior. Also, some women are socially inept and love the idea of having a boyfriend without actually having to deal with him outside, because they got issues with intimacy. They like the inmates as a pet or something. Some women may indeed like them because they see these men as "violent alphas", eitherway, most women don't write to killers nor find that attractive. It's about as relevant as women who fetishize hands or feet: A minority with a somwehat odd fixation.

Because there are fucked up people.

Why is that a surprise? There are people who write love letters to killers. There are killers. There are rapists. There are abusers of all kinds.

Why are you more surprised at a person writing to a killer than at the person who killed?

Why does that one extremely tiny group stand out to you more than any other?

It's like, there's a wall with all sorts of horrible shit drawn on it, and there's a minuscule tiny drawing that's barely visible, and you walk up to the wall and you point to it and you ask "hey why's that in here?".

Why do you put all the focus on women writing, and not men writing, or, surprise, the men IN THE PRISON?

This is more evidence that in order for red pill to "work", you need to be extremely biaised, to ignore hundreds of things to focus on the one tiny thing that confirms your narrative.

Why do these women do it? No one knows why. We don't know why anyone does anything. There are hundreds or thousands of reasons happening at the same time. Why do you eat that kind of cereal in the morning and not something else? Why do you prefer red to purple? Why do you start your texts with hey instead of hi? We can't explain why anyone does anything, let alone highly strange behaviours.

Does it strengthen their point? If all that red pill has to say is that there are fucked up people, then yes I guess it does. If that's all they have to say then I'm not sure why they need to exist, everyone has always known that.

The fact that an inmate receives hundreds of letters doesn't mean hundreds of women are sending him letters. It only takes two or three very obsessed women to write letter every day to receive hundreds of letters.

The women that do write them are not mentally well, obviously. They clearly are attracted to dangerous men, but that doesn't mean all women are. I personally have no desire to do that even with my own mental health issues. I would rather stare googly-eyed into Ryan Reynolds dressed like Deadpool than give anyone in prison the time of day. Even then though, it was only hundreds of letters and women, not tens of thousands or millions. That's clearly not even close to majority behaviour so it can be filed away as anomalies that some crazy people do (because men did it for the women killers and criminals too). It's clearly not healthy, but it doesn't mean that it's enough to make broad claims out about half the population.

I’ll be honest most of the women who want criminals deal with some sort of trauma themselves. Taking it from personal experience I always avoided dealing with those kind of women cuz they’d usually come with a laundry list of problems and seeing that I had my own laundry list to deal with I swore to being a recluse dating wise until I got my shit in order.

There is a mental condition call hybristophilia, attraction toward violent people. It’s seemingly more common in women but then there are more attractive male serial killers than females, so we can’t tell for sure if it mean to be more common in women. Either way, it’s not normal and people with such fetishes seek out violent men/women. They are also anti-social so being in relationships with someone locked up means they can avoid the social aspect of relationships
