I have seen videos of woman before and after eye makeup, and there is something happening that I don't understand why or how it's happening.

(If you want an example, check out Jennifer Vail. Not sure what her background is, but she makes hilarious TikToks, and is VERY much into makeup, and doing it well.)

Questions:

  • Adding the black lines either through the eyelashes or on the eyelids, what is that trying to accomplish?
  • It does seem to change the look of the eyes - and maybe even the rest of the face. Not here to debate which is better, but how does it do that?
