One thing I've noticed in a lot of articles directed at men and women respectively. It seems to me that men are often told to take responsibility, grow up, step up, man up, do this, do that, which in itself isn't bad, but how often do you hear similar advice directed at women? It's often stuff like, don't compromise, stand up for your rights, follow your heart, don't neglect your needs, do what you want, put yourself first etc. Which in itself isn't bad per se, but it seems there's a double standard here. Like I think you kind of need both, to be a responsible adult, care about others etc, but also to not let others step on you, control your life, and in some ways do what you want to do. It just seems there's a ton of things a man has to do to be a 'good man', whereas at least to some feminists, women are already victims/saints who just need men to behave better. Granted not everything you hear is like that, but a lot of it. There's also an expectation that a man has a to sacrifice, while there isn't really an equivalent for women anymore. Like there isn't an emphasis on being a good person, caring, selfless, pleasing your partner. Like to an extent it's the same for men, we live in an individualistic, selfish age, and I don't pretend I'm a saint myself, but there's no real equivalent to men to what feminism is for women. I will admit in the past women were often told they needed to please their man etc, which was sometimes BS, but if things really did favour men in the past (or some men), it seems to be going the other way these days.
