That report doesn't paint LGBTQ in a good light; they are basically more promiscuous, less likely to use protection, more likely to drink, smoke pot, use illicit drugs, abuse opioids, and commit sexual violence.

They feel pressured to promote themselves as objects.

Its both teen girls and teen boys. They need direction and have no place to turn. Schools do not really care. There are also many parents who neglect their kids due to their financial situation. The parents put themselves first and forget about their kids. We had to take 2 nieces into our home to help them through this struggle. It was not easy for us to get through the court system itself to make this happen. Society is set up currently not to help these kids.

I agree, but good luck trying to take that phone off your daughter.

The consensus is that girls have better social skills than boys, are better at navigating relationships. Girls are the power users of social media, the ones with the most friends and influence. So when social media turns out to cause problems, might that be something to do with girls, might it raise questions about toxic femininity, about female styles of bullying where the victim's social network is undermined, about how the female need for conformity is very hard to reconcile with every thought you've ever had being on a permanent public record? Of course not, it couldn't be the precious girls. It's a male conspiracy where male nerds invented the technology to compel teenage girls to send nude pictures to male jocks.

Schools need to teach more about the history of women and girls – not only for historical accuracy, but as a way to bolster girls’ self-esteem and counteract the effects of online misogyny. You’d think that by now there would be equal attention paid in history classes to women and men, but sadly that’s far from the case. In 2017, a study by the National Women’s History Museum found that for every three men taught about in America’s schools, only one woman is mentioned – and the majority of these women are white.

If white men made America, then it's going to be mostly whites and mostly men in the history books. Couldn't have been done without white women, but mostly in roles that were conventional and domestic. But sure, talk about the essential influence of Harriet Tubman in the writing of the Declaration of Independence, in the mapping of the sources of the Missouri, in the invention of the airplane. Shove it down boys' faces at every opportunity. Are you not doing it already? How's it going in removing misogyny from the world?
