Hey there...I suggest going for Robert Sapolsky's "Behave" and later going for Leon F. Seltzer (psychology today blogs) to understand human behaviour and why we behave the way we behave. I thought of dropping this here cause I see some people blaming Men, Women and trans for their dating preferences or sexual strategies. It's not like we choose these preferences it's all how genes evolved for survival. These strategies helped us survive when we were in jungle... it's only 10k years (approx) that we have settled down as agricultural societies. The modern outlook that we want from people is driven by culture, but deep instinct still lies as that of a caveman and women cause evolution is a slow process and also certain traits takes longer time to adapt as they required more energy and contribution to form. Evolution isn't perfect, is slow.. sometimes adapt in strange ways that fix one problem but cause others. There's also a thing like evolutionary suicide..where due to conflicting interest certain adaptation leads to extinction of the species... certain traits are formed that support individual gene interests but causes extinction of species due to same. All in all it's a complex science...but it's worth reading
