Hey all,

My partner of 16 years and I have decided to divorce after a lot of fighting between us. We had twins nearly two years ago and unfortunately the stress of it all has exasperated symptoms of Huntington's Disease (HD) which is a degenerative neurological disease that attacks mind and body. I've now been symptomatic ironically since just before the children were born.

Before we had children my wife pushed very, very hard for them. I explained that I was fearing my age (now 46) and knowing I had HD would not be a good thing for us, but I would try through IVF one last time after six failed attempts. It worked, and I'm grateful for it despite what it's done to our marriage.

Last week she agreed to divorce, then I made the mistake of looking at pics of our golden days together and I had a lot of remorse over our decision. But then she kept to her guns and emphasized the marriage was over. I was so gutted and anxiety ridden.

Since then, I've accepted this is the right decision as it's best for the children, but I'm having a *really* hard time accepting that my wife has abandoned her vows to me and I'm nervous my caregiver is no longer there for me. Is this something I should talk to her about or is this more of a conversation for a lawyer?

Thanks!
