This is another post geared towards activism and helping people better spread the word of men's rights.

This is somewhat inspired by this post, where a member managed to get beaten up over their opinion. This summarizes some of the arguments on it and the statistics.

Summary. Mostly women chose to circumcise to make their children's penises sexually attractive. You can counter this by talking about the dangers of penises being lost, stds being caught, and all sorts of horrible disfiguring things happening to the penis. You can also show videos of circumcision to give a visual reminder of why it's bad. Studies on circumcisions protecting from stds are flawed, and damage such as penile cancer only has an increased risk if you have phimosis.

Here are some charities on the issue you can donate to to help support the anti circumcision fight.

A very popular core argument is this- it is wrong to force someone to undergo unnecessary surgery, to cut off a piece of your son's penis. That is why circumcision is bad. And that makes sense as it's the core of the issue. You shouldn't force yourself on someone else, forcefully tear a bit of their body. The main reason people do it is somewhat disconnected though.

http://www.circumstitions.com/Iowa.html

The most common reason for it is not a medical reason, but a choice by a woman to try and make their child's penis look more attractive/ normal. When people cite medical reasons, always have it in mind that often the real reason people do it is just to be normal. To fit in with society. If you want to change your mind you have to tackle this belief.

And what better than a video of the act in question?

Videos like these of a circumcision are excellent at changing views. It's hard to support circumcision after hearing babies cry, seeing the blood drip from their genitalia.

2-16% of those circumcized have complications. This is much more common if you have an untrained rabbi doing it.

There was a recent story of a rabbi who accidentally cut a baby's penis off. There's no regulation for them so they can do lots of stupid stuff, and

"Llewellyn handles cases involving injury during circumcision – injury brought on by both doctors in the hospital and mohels in religious ceremonies, and "Your average pediatric urologist probably spends about 20 percent of his or her time repairing children who have been circumcised,” Llewellyn says. "

One popular extra technique for rabbis is to suck the penis of the the child after circumcisions to remove blood. This carries a serious risk of transferring stds.

It should be very easy for you to connect the high risk of the procedure to these dangerous things.

Some common objections-

Circumcision has health benefits like reducing stds.

http://www.doctorsopposingcircumcision.org/info/HIVStatement.html

There are studies on this, but they are flawed in that they compare the number of HIV cases in people a short time after circumcision and people who haven't had a circumcision. Predictably, if you cut off a bit of a person's dick they can't have sex for a while and so are less likely to get HIV through that method.

http://www.cirp.org/library/disease/HIV/brewer2007/

There is evidence that unhygienic circumcision practices can transmit stds. So this is not a good reason to circumcise.

Their dick will be smelly/ have smegma poisoning.

This is a real concern- there is an increased risk of penile cancer (although penile cancer is already very rare), perhaps from smegma build up, that doesn't occur with circumcised penises. However, if you control for phimosis or clean your penis, this effect doesn't occur.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21695385

Phimosis involves a tight foreskin, and cutting it off reduces that. This argument can easily be countered with something like "We don't cut off women's breasts just in case they get breast cancer. The risk of penile cancer is very low, and this isn't a worthwhile reason."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phimosis

There are many less radical treatments for this, like stretching the foreskin or topical steroids, or making a smaller cut. Circumcision should be a last resort.

http://intactnews.org/node/119/1314979135/circumcision-does-not-prevent-hpv-infection-rct-data-039inflated039-study-finds

High quality studies do not find a higher risk of HPV infection in uncircumcised penises- the older ones only measured in small regions of the penis.

Does circumcision make your penis less sensitive?

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23937309

This meta study says no.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23374102

This study says yes. There's very mixed research on this. In my experience this isn't a good argument to use. It's hard to argue the science of it and it makes any circumcised males feel defective. That tends to turn them off discussions. Women who want circumcised penises already know that the circumcised penises are better, and aren't very receptive to being told that it might make it worse.

So to summarize- be aware of the real reasons people support circumcision (they think it's sexy) point out the health issues, show them pictures of the agonizing pain, counter any points they raise with the above arguments, and point out how it's wrong to pointlessly remove bits of a person's body without their consent with a high risk.
