I realised this the other day. I mean, presumably it must have happened when I was a little baby, but ever since the age of around 4, starting with my earliest childhood memories, I have no recollection of receiving anything other than disappointed glances from parents, teachers, friends, anyone on the rare occasions that I cried.

And then I hear this shit about women being "more in touch with their emotions" and men being "unable to express themselves" and it makes me sick.

If I show sadness I'm pathetic, if I show anger I'm dangerous, if I show no emotion I'm creepy. I should just superglue my face into a smile.

I don't think I'm a special snowflake in this respect: many other men may have had similar experiences. It's probably not a healthy thing.
