This is one of the most disgusting pieces of television I've ever seen. If real, a rape victim is being humiliated for a national audience, if fake, a farce is being made of childhood male rape victims.

Un. Be. Lievable. Can you imagine them trouncing a 14 year old girl on stage to face her rapist? This is how we treat young men, they are thrust straight into the adult world, told to be a man, given a fraction of the sympathy girls get and everyone wonders why men have issues later in life. When you're putting boys through a god damn meat grinder of adulthood before they even have facial hair what do you think is going to happen?

I'm not entirely sure about this particular case. Yes, male rape most certainly happens, but I'm not sure if this particular case has been scripted for entertainment purposes.

The boy keeps stifling back his smile, and looking like he is trying not to laugh, but of course, laughter and 'being a lad' may just be his way of dealing with the issue. He doesn't seem distraught at all, but then not all rape or sexual assault victims are. Some people are emotionally stronger than others, and better able to deal with it.

However, that should not take away from the seriousness of child abuse, whether or not that child feels affected by it or not.. We should also consider that some put on a front to deal with people. Also, men and boys are expected to act strong even when they feel vulnerable inside, otherwise they are ridiculed. Maybe that is the case here. Yes, I suppose there are some victims who like the attention that comes from it - even if it's negative attention, but again, it should not take away from the fact that a rape/assault/abuse happened.

In this case, there was probably a financial reward offered from the television company, which is disgusting and exploitive, regardless of whether this boy is traumatised, or not. The show merely makes a sensationalist farce out of the issue of male sexual abuse. Maybe this boy knew what he was doing, but very many young boys do not, and many may be deeply traumatised.

Stupid and ridiculous nonsense. The assumption that all sex between minors and adults is rape is false. Consent refers to the provision of approval or agreement. To claim that minors are unable to approve or agree to something is absurd. Minors are capable of consent, but the state invalidates their consent on the basis of their age.
