This, it is now being said, is a "typical" example of age-old sexist double-standards, whereby women are condemned for flamboyant expressions of their sexuality while men are admired.

It isn't flamboyant sexuality that women (and men) are condemned for. It is purposeless, gratuitous, disrespectful, meaningless, misleading, and impersonal expressions of sexuality.

This may be the view of an ignorant, immature and vocal minority with more technology than sense.

But otherwise, there is nothing typical about any part of this episode, and it should not be seen as an invitation to bang on a feminist drum any more than it should be seen as an opportunity to jeer at and judge a young woman.

It's like watching that gif of the fighter jet missing the aircraft carrier. She starts out good and then misses the point. There is every reason to jeer at this young woman. There is every reason to judge her. She acted like trash in front of 80k people and was too stupid to consider that maybe one of them, in this era of everything you do in public being filmed by someone didn't have a smartphone. She probably had a smart phone. She probably took pictures of odd things she saw in public. Her crime was thinking that she was somehow different. That she would somehow get special treatment for doing something that she would have ridiculed someone else for doing. What the fuck did she think was going to happen when she blew two strangers in front of 80k people? Did she think it was going to get her applause? Did she think it was going to get her a fucking ticker tape parade?

I saw another thread on this topic and someone posted a picture of some dude eating out some woman at an outdoor concert. She's laying in the dirt, and he's hunkered down with his face buried in her muff. My opinion? The opinion of everyone in the thread? "Ew". Fucking disgusting. It isn't the sex act that is being judged. It is the incongruity of it. It is the impropriety of it. It is the disrespect that they show for everyone else around them by claiming that public space for their private act. It's their rudeness and their absence of forethought and foresight.

How the fuck is this this hard to comprehend? Can someone please fucking tell me how the fuck this shit is this hard to comprehend?
