I've been there, 24th and San Antonio. Funny.

While leaving Austin City Limits festival at night last year, I recall coming to a signaled crosswalk with a cop standing out in front of his cruiser immediately adjacent the road.

The sign showed the universal red palm, so the crowd that I'd found myself walking along with were all stopped up there, waiting.

One of the guys in the crowd shouted out to the cop, "Officer, can we cross?"

He looked over and said, "Your risk."

The street was fucking dead. Looking to the left, nothing. To the right, nothing.

I led the walk. Tip of the head to the cop. And we were off.

Never Ever talk to police. Ever. I strongly advise you all to watch this video. It is something that can affect your life. I am currently spinning a plate that is an attorney, and I quoted some things about this, and she nearly blew me for knowing this alone.

to be fair, being arrested for jaywalking is pretty fucking ridiculous. But the bitch should have stopped.

I had the same reaction watching the video. Her attitude is one of disbelief at being handled by authority figures. Attractive women are so used to being catered to that it never occurs to them that they could wind up in a jail cell.

There is a very chilling video on Youtube somewhere of a suburban housewife shrieking at a police officer in a holding cell. He then goes to the camera, shuts it off; when its back on again, she's bleeding from her face.

These women are so used to getting their way by yelling and carping at men, that they think that will work with men in uniform. They are utterly unprepared for receiving violence from men in uniform.

That being said, the police are thugs and they go WAY too far with stuff like this. Is this really the best way of bringing down pedestrian fatalities? And why is it even necessary to bring down pedestrian fatalities with such tactics? If someone is dumb enough to get hit by a car running through a crowded street, that's on them.

To play devil's advocate, she initially flipped out because the cop grabbed her from behind while she had on headphones and was listening to music. She was surprised, and she reacted like most of us would if someone suddenly grabbed us from behind in public.

The situation seems like it could have been avoided if the cop simply got in front of her where she could see him and told her to stop.

On the other hand, I find cops to be sadistic, brutal, authoritarian, unaccountable, arrogant, sycophantic, unthinking, unreasonable, robotic, alpha wanabees. The chick didn't stop because she had earbuds in and was listening to music and didn't hear the cops. Austin cops are scum. Do a search on Antonio Buehler.
