Maybe instead of ending feminism in some parts of the world but not others, we can launch a new worldwide movement called egalitarianism.

Even in countries with extremely serious gender problems modern feminism is not the answer. Feminism opnely advocates discrimination as a solution to discrimination. This is not the right way to handle things, even inplaces such as India (where feminists are sucessfully removing due process for men).

If a person has cancer chemo-therapy may help. But if they have pneumonia chemo will just kill them. Modern feminism is just a disaster for places such as India.

I'd go even further than simply limiting feminism's influence in the west. The problem is pushing feminism into pockets where the underlying social structure is not at the point where its realistically possible to remove gender roles. No, what places like Afghanistan need more than feminism is a significant boost in their quality of life. The industrial revolution gave rise to it in the west, and as a side effect utilized the wealth disparity that existed and whose existence is instrumental in the continuance of growth and our way of life. Maybe feminism can get even more Marxy and take a stab at the inequalities capitalism reinforces in these areas, as it's likely to have a more lasting effect inline with their beliefs. It might require them to come off their pedestal and live a life less privileged with cheap creature comforts and useless crap we have here. Once we had a sizable population that were no longer living hand to mouth, it made sense to reevaluate our social paradigm. The same will happen everywhere else.

When feminists look outside of the western world, they don't understand what it is that lead to the difference. They believe it was feminism, and they're wrong. This is also why feminism has had a historically difficult time selling its message to discriminated or impoverished groups in the west. It's why the movement is considered to be one by and for middle/upper-class white women, because that group more than any other as a whole is unburdened by the harsh realities of day to day life. They're protected from it and know nothing of it.

They also do not understand their movement within a holistic, historical world view. They do not understand that a restructuring of gender roles was an inevitable consequence of our success in largely conquering the natural world. To them, it was a game they initiated that they're still fighting to win. They see women elsewhere in the world as losing this "game" of theirs. They're ignorant the cause of what they're seeing, and as such offer little in the way of actual progress, but they won't stop trying to jam it down the throats of communities who have even more pressing matters to overcome. They ought to bring these impoverished countries up to the level of western countries, and watch the social change come naturally.

They're largely unneeded in the west, and I'd argue are largely unneeded and potentially problematic in most the rest of the world. Useful for stamping out some glaringly obvious prohibitions placed on women that persist past a few generations, after those countries get themselves into the 21st century in other areas. Areas of the world where social change in that regard is ripe for feminism's influence are few and far between.

No. Some parts of the world need women's right activism. No part of the world needs feminism.

You have to understand why this is appearing on such a leftist website.. Policymic prides itself on representing Gen Y, only problem is that it is largely made up of boomer and gen x manhaters, and the occasional token Gen Y gal.

From a conceptual standpoint they are outright hostile to Gen Y. They can't admit that they are wrong(that would go against the psychopathic boomer/gen x credo's), so they have to inch it.
