I'm male, 38, and I'm single because I work at my job too hard. I do this to myself partly because my work is the only source from which I can get a sense of self worth, the feeling of being wanted, productive and useful.

Online dating is the most convenient option for men like myself, but there they will get their hopes crushed by the feeling of utter, complete worthlessness. Because that's the way online dating is rigged.

I have been on two dates during the last year. Even this I consider an achievement (to actually get on a date online). Didn't work out for us - but both those women found themselves "a guy" within a week or two after our date. They make it look so easy, don't they.

You could've looked at the carnage of your mother, aunts, older siblings and rejected it. It's been going on the last 30+ years. Maybe I'm being too harsh. You've truly built a majestic career as the fundraising coordinator at the American Red Cross of Punxatawny, the director of social work at the United Way of Fall River, and the drone, replaceable worker at XYZ interchangeable company. I'm sure you are single because of all of those hours you spent on Facebook bitching about how slow it was at work.

I'm an engineer who works around a few female engineers who are all single and in their 30s. I constantly hear these women complain about their failed dates. When discussing their dates, they usually bash on the most trivial things. For that very small sample size, my preliminary conclusion is that their expectations are way too high. They usually brush it off by saying "They just cant handle a successful woman."

A lot of that is projection and in my opinion women's fault. Like the working until 30-35 in order to be successful so she'll pull a better man. That's how men attract women, not how women attract men. And then they say men are intimidated by them when in fact they've squandered the best years/assets of their life.

And before people keep asking why is this a men's rights issue. Because men have been blamed for this for the past few years in various articles. It's always men's fault for not manning up and marrying these mid 30's has been women with insane demands. Shit like this is why these women are single and they have no one to blame but themselves. And if they don't want to settle, that's fine. But they have no right to keep complaining about it and blaming men.
