Woman here. And feminist. And I would completely agree, both of these, and any form of rape or sexual assault, no matter the gender, are horrible. I don't pick and choose which cases are worse because I think they're somehow going to further an agenda or bring awareness to feminists. However, I fail to see how this is worse because he was sodomized whereas she was fingered.

Both people in both case suffered tremendous psychological and physical harm because of what happened to them. And its in no way worse for a boy to be raped than it is for a girl to be raped. And vice versa. When I read this article, I didn't sit there thinking "well, he's a guy, whatever. Its so much worse for girls". No, I think sexual assault and rape are problems anyone can encounter and it affects all victims equally and painfully.

And yet you can't seem to see that despite this being worse, we still care far more if something happens to a girl

Who is "we"? Are you speaking in terms of global, worldwide stigmas, or are you talking about the feminist agenda, or are you talking about someone else entirely? I'm not part of that "we", and neither are a lot of other people. I see cases as a tragedy that deserves severe punishment for the guilty and help and healing for the victims.
