I have always found it strange, that male sports (at least in the US) promote breast cancer awareness instead of, you know, prostate cancer since the players wearing the ribbons do have a reasonable chance of getting that one(men have about the same chance of getting breast cancer as women do prostate cancer, though, for women, the gland is referred to as the Skenes gland and is likely the cause of g-spot orgasms http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Do_women_have_prostates ).

It is even more dumbfounding when one sees that the amount of deaths from each disease is roughly the same (34k-32k) or thereabouts. I wonder how big the shitstorm would be if from this day forth, those sports instead had prostate cancer awareness ribbons on their uniforms, and promoted the color blue and left pink week to the wnba and lpga. I imagine it would be epic.

Thus, I am of the mind to promote cancer research... as that seems the most equatable solution. Probably won't sell as many boobs bracelets that way, though. Breast cancer awareness is as much about empowerment and furthering feminist principals as it is about stopping the cancer. It is a shame so many look to politicize cancer research.
