That is actually pretty sensible.

Teaching them to crop out their faces means there won't be so much blackmail, bullying and revenge porn. Also the boyfriends will be safer because without knowing identity it's difficult to press charges.

Stuff on the internet doesn't just go away, and embedded information in photos can be linked to personal identifiers.

Victoria's Gen Z are told to crop out anything identifiable, not sext under the influence, know the legal landscape and avoid sharing other people's risque photos.

These people are obviously not any kind of tech expert, I think anybody who knows the slightest bit about computers and phones would laugh their heads off at some of the 'advice' that's been floating around here. I think one of the worst examples if anybody remembers was the whole 'fappening' thing where a bunch of dumb celebrities had uploaded their nudes to cloud servers thinking it was secure and that's how the disaster happened.

If anybody is new to using the internet, nothing is 100% secure on the internet, anything you upload can be hacked into no matter how you try. Now don't get me wrong, if you do your research there can be very good options out there, but you need to do your research and not listen to idiot teachers who barely know how to open a zip file.

Your best defence against hacking and leaks is to keep everything offline, I for instance back up builds of my projects offline constantly because I know if I get at all popular as a game developer ( One can only hope :P ) curious hackers may come looking to get my files and poke around for giggles.

Here's what I would do, get a USB, put your files in a passworded .rar or .zip archive whichever you prefer, then put the archive in the USB. Then, here's the radical step, mail it to your partner rather than send it over the internet. This way the only way that somebody can steal them is either physically stealing the USB or your partner leaking them online after opening the archive in which case you'd have every reason to dump them and sue them. This will also be fairly police, parent and teacher proof as well because they'd have to break into the archive in order to find anything which would be very much a violation of your rights there will also be no trace of anything on your phone.

Trust me, that's going to be far more valuable advice than anything these idiots who don't know anything about computers will give you. This applies to any adults as well that are for whatever reason looking to share something very private with a partner. Always keep the files offline as much as you can otherwise that leaves a trace that hackers can find.

I mean, good idea and bad idea. We should maybe just teach children not to send nudes. But they probably will do it either way so may as well make sure their faces aren’t shown in the nudes. But also teaching it to 12 year olds seems kinda excessive. But I guess some girls start puberty at 9-10 years old so it’s possible they are sending nudes that young.

And of course the only people who are punished are they people who receive the photos and if they are male.

If it is a female they are not arrested while the 12 year old girls are not arrested for producing child pornography or possessing child pornography.
