I often wonder about the longterm emotional effects of circumcision on boys. Abuse of infants has well documented lifelong effects. Taking a newborn and applying a scalpel to the most sensitive part of his body is nothing short of monstrous.

There are even discussions going on now of longterm effects for people who get medical effects done under full anaesthesia. Yet we're still holding little boys down and carving them up like it's nothing.

What's really fucked up is that on places like /r/menslib, the pro-feminist men's rights activists (AKA not actual MRAs, but just self-hating men), the ways you can discuss male circumcision are strongly limited with rules. You're not allowed to discuss FGM, you're not allowed to discuss religion's effect of MGM, and hilariously you're not even allowed to call it "mutilation."

I watched it on TV today, the entire interview is actually quite disturbing. The cognitive dissonance in regards to circumcision and how awful it truly is is just bizarre. I never really agreed with a lot of things Ellen has said since she always comes across as pretty ignorant on world matters, and this interview just cemented that for me. Seeing her laugh about genital mutilation and just being completely ignorant about how awful it is from a woman who is supposedly 'woke' and informed is just fucked.
