That's all we have to do. Announce it, celebrate it, grow it. No need for buy-in or legislative approval to get it off the ground. We can obtain de facto recognition down the road. But consider:

February is Black History Month. March is Women’s History Month. April is Black Women’s History Month. May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. June is LGBT Pride Month. September is National Hispanic Heritage Month. October is LGBT History Month. November is Native American Heritage Month.

The one group conspicuously missing? White males. July is the perfect month to claim and celebrate: the month of our nation's birth, when our white male Founding Fathers pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to the revolution ahead.

An equivalent month to celebrate the contributions of past and present white males to the greatness of our nation is an excellent idea. Easy to find many contributions to America and Western Civ to cite every day in July. There's every reason for white males and their allies to be proud, too. Let's do it!
