BBC Newsnight presenter Emily Maitlis hits out at camera shots that reveal a little too much in potential new sexism row. She is only wearing a short skirt so she can jump on the feminist "Me too" bandwagon. Why does she not wear a longer skirt?

I am a male nurse and work with the majority of women. I can't tell you how many women have complained about male patients looking down your shirt for their bedding over. I asked them why they don't wear T-shirts underneath their scrub tops. They are Volstead some variation of "it is too hot, it is too uncomfortable, or it doesn't look good" not one person took responsibility for their own part. And it wasn't like men were positioning self's to look down my shirt, women have to bend over to boost patient up in a bed, start an IV, or assess a patient.

It's one of countless double standards that women have running in their heads at all times.

Women know that their looks (and by looks I'm implicitly meaning sexual attractiveness and desirable sexual characteristics) are a quick and easy way to get something without necessarily having to employ merit or talent, BUT they don't want this truism pointed out in any way, especially if pointing it out shatters the illusion that sex appeal isn't sex appeal.

It's like what Peterson and that Vice stooge were talking about in the interview that was deceptively edited: women wear things like lipstick and high heels to work. Those two things serve ultimately only one function, to boost sex appeal by artificially enhancing primal sex characteristics. Women employ those methods all the time because women derive at least some of their self-esteem and self-worth from how much they're desired; BUT they don't want that desirability to result in a situation they're not in complete control of.

This journalist wears those skirts because she knows that subconsciously (and in some cases consciously) that enhanced sexual allure gets more viewers interested in her segments, which boosts her ratings, which increases her standing within the network so that she can get promotions and pay commensurate with that increased value. What she doesn't want is for that tactic to be pointed out in an obvious way that can then be considered and potentially challenged, because then she might be put into a position where she'd have to either acknowledge the tactic, or change to an appearance that doesn't employ the tactic in order to remain to be seen as ideologically consistent to avoid the label of hypocrite. But how can she slalom through this environment? Easy: blame a scapegoat who's not in a position to challenge the assertion. A cameraman's just a working stiff; he's not known, and aside from union rules he can be replaced relatively effort-free. This way, she gets to have her cake and eat it too: she gets to keep showing off her legs whilst now being able to brand anyone who brings the legs up as an arguing point as a misogynist/sexist/etc.

And, of course, like good men of the modern age, they'll ultimately cave to this paper-thin pressure that'd collapse almost instantly if it was brought to the forefront in a truly critical way. It's this kind of repeatedly milquetoast behavior from the sources of authority that should hold this mentality in check that are now creating a world in which female murder of men can be seen as totally justified for the most minor offense. When you allow things to decay to the point that murder gets the pussy pass, THAT'S when society collapses.

Well, she could wear pants. It does remind me of a joke though.

Mary was in the park playing with John. He mother went to check on her and saw her in a tree with John looking up and smiling. She called her daughter and told her never to climb trees because John can look up her skirt and see her underwear.

The next day. Mary's mom went out to the park and again saw Mary in a tree and John looking upand smiling. She called her daughter to her and asked her. Didn't I tell you never to climb trees because John can look up your skirt and see you're underwear? Mary responded triumphantly, "No he can't because I took them off".

If she continues to wear short skirts on Tv that is fine, but also she cannot be critical of the cameramen when her legs are exposed.
