Sometimes on here or on other subs, I see people complaining about the above in the title. At face value, claims that posts like that aren't helpful are decent, in that they don't actually focus on important men's rights issues directly.

However, I do think they show some important things.

The sexist remarks show the wide acceptance of such comments, as they are often well liked and upvoted. This lack of empathy for men is part of what has held men's issues back for so long, and realising that lack of empathy is the first step for people to be able to overcome it and consider their actions toward the male population and the way they are treated by society.

Posts regarding women committing crimes show two important men's rights issues. They not only usually show the greater degree that women are given leniency at every stage of the justice system, which also shows the lack of empathy given to men (or misplaced empathy given to women) under the same circumstances, but it also speaks to dispelling the myth that only men commit certain crimes.

If people can be shown the way men see the mistreatment of their gender in every walk of life, perhaps they will learn to take them more seriously with their issues.
