It's not quite that bad in the UK. Women have and are being arrested for domestic violence.

The police in the UK are trained in the Duluth model though. I have been involved in three domestic disturbance call outs. I had furniture and household objects thrown at me by a woman and had visible defensive wounds on my hands(I didn't retaliate in any way) I was treated like a perp, forced to leave the property under threat of arrest with my(now ex) fiancè despite it being my residence and my her name being on the morgage.

I was attacked by a woman physically and after slipping several punches she swiped at me with an umbrella narrowly missing my eye and leaving a nasty gash under it(again I didn't retaliate). I was forced to leave the property under threat of arrest at midnight with no money/transport and being far away from home. I had just as much right to be at the property as my assailant.

The third incident was just a screaming match between me and my(now ex) fiancè again I was treated like a perp and threat to her, the police would not leave until one of us had left the property.

Where in the UK was this? I have no doubt that the police will take the easy way out in many cases. I heard a figure of over a thousand women being arrested for domestic violence in one year in a programme on the TV not so long ago. Then you have the woman who is now Labour's spokeswoman on something or other, who attacked the semi-famous husband she married when he wouldn't agree to set aside the pre-nup they had agreed. She was arrested, and spent a while in the cells. So not all forces use the Dututh model.

All forces are trained in the Duluth model in the UK. That does not mean that in any and all cases they will not be able or allowed to use their own judgement. Assuming your 1000 in one year figure is accurate what was the figure for men arrested in that year? Given that studies into DV show that most is reciprocal with the woman initiating violence more often and that 70% of long term non reciprocal abuse of a partner is committed by women a 1000 women getting arrested in a year is what you would expect under a Duluth trained police force. And that is without looking into the statistics for what typically happens to men/women arrested for comensurate DV.

Wow. That's horrible - did you get out in the end, at least? How did the police treat you at the station?

Could I add this to www.menarehuman.com for awareness?

[–]Maito_Guy 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

You misread, I never got arrested just forced to leave the property under threat of arrest. Neither of the violent incidents where abusive relationships(one was my fiancè at the timed mother and one was my sister)

Oh, sorry. When you said you were forced to leave, I may have assumed. :P Sorry about that.

Are you alright with me adding it to the site, though? If not, no worries.

Yeah, no problem. How does that site work in terms of posting stuff because I have something to share in there that is probably very appropriate for that site.

[–]Hadashi_blacksky 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Thanks a lot. Normally I work with submissions, so if you'd like to send it to me via a direct message, or through the contact page on the site that would be really good. I'm also on the Men's Rights Discord if you need to get in touch.

Cool, I will do that when I get PC access.
