Deleted my old comment - I made a mistake.

I commented that as a Dane, I could report that they dismissed this suggestion from the population.

I misremembered and it was another suggestion from the population that I had signed and supported that was dismissed immediately, they are actually still deliberating on this one.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that out while trying to find a source for my earlier false claim of it having been dismissed.

The same penalty has existed since 2003 for the internationally condemned practice of excision, or female genital mutilation.

I would imagine the law in Denmark forbids all forms of FGM, even forms less extreme than excision. Any Danes familiar with the law, do feel free to chime in.
