Same. In my experience things that are considered feminine are seen as less than whether it's worn by men or women. For example, despite my tomboy nature I'm pretty good with emotions. My husband had to sit me down and explain how emotional intelligence is a necessary skill. I can't really see the value in that skill quite like I can see the value in say hard manual labor. In regard to manual labor, I am also fairly skilled, but can't outperform a man obviously. So I always felt I don't quite fit anywhere. Cause I see my ability to empathize/have decent intuition as worthless. But to build and create with my bare hands is a skill I see as important.

My husband explained that emotional intelligence, is a necessary skill and people like myself would make for excellent leaders. I have a hard time seeing that due to the many times I have seen boisterous overt narcissism be rewarded(typical alpha male illusion). But I see what he means now that I go over certain aspects in life. And I think when he and I come together we make for a good team. It's all about balance. Yes the more masculine traits aids in productivity. But feminine traits balance out and provides harmony and fairness.

Like you said nothing is set in stone. I have fairly "masculine" traits and that may compliment my husband's more "effeminate" traits. Sort of like a Yin Yang effect. But generally I too wished people didn't put others down. Or consistently miscommunicate and purposely misunderstand things to make one side appear more valuable or less than. Or using these traits as a mean to limit other's potential.

In short, OP I too wish for the same thing. Life just feels so much sweeter when we appreciate each other.
