Looking for a little encouragement 😓

Tonight my family is celebrating my parents 40th anniversary. My sister is the one who remembered, and had the idea to get us siblings to do something nice for them. I basically planned everything else ( not the problem, I love it, and if I needed help I know my sister would have.) My brother lifted not one finger.

The one thing I did ask them to do, was tell me how many people I needed to make the dinner reservation for. Nobody answered, and we were getting pretty late in the game, so I made the reservation just with the immediate family, which ended up being a nightmare. Every nice restaurant was completely booked. It took hours to finally find an elegant place to accommodate us. I told them, do not invite anybody else, it was hard enough to ge this, I am not going to push my luck.

6 hours before dinner is to start, my brother texts me to say his wife's aunt, (who none of us have ever met ) is coming, hope that doesn't mess with the reservation....

This is exactly what he did the last time I planned an event, and I swear he does it on purpose. But of course when I point it out, im the bitch making a big deal out of nothing.

I've gone to therapy due to our awful relationship, have an exit strategy, and normally that's enough to alleviate the anxiety I get from knowing I'm going to have to be around him.. but today I'm fucking livid. I put a lot of effort into this - booked a breakfast & bed for my parents, took my mom shopping, reserved a nice restaurant for the family, found a cool looking speak easy for us to go to afterward for a drink... and how much do you want to bet, I will be the one unable to enjoy any of it, because I have to leave because my brother calls me a bitch as soon as we get there?

LV boyfriends are fucking nothing compared to the LVM you're stuck being around in one capacity or another for your entire life. I wish I could just dump him and move on with my life
