The proud boys are pro western culture and pro male... They have many non white members and race has nothing to do with the group.

To be honest I am not a big fan of this. First, because it is kind of indirectly supporting homophobia by the tone of mocking them by tagging gay men with it. Second, AFAIK George Takei started this and he has literally defended statutory rape and doxxed people.

While it's not in line with the more malignant aspects of woke-ism, it does share woke-ism's focus on the symbolic over the material, and the online over the real. It's cute, in its way, and gave me some smiles, but ultimately it's a feel-good exercise in powerlessness. I fear it may have actually given the hate group a considerable signal boost as well.

A bunch of gay men on twitter has overtaken the #ProudBoys hashtag. At the recent presidential debate, when Trump was asked to denounce white supremacy and have them stand down, he said "Proud boys. Stand back and stand by."

The hashtag has been claimed by gay men and taken over a tool the white supremacists used under Donald Trump.
