To summarize this video, a guy proceeds to beat the daylights out of another guy for what the title suggests as "asking his friends girlfriend for nudes"
Now, what is interesting is their was/is currently 3 different main discussions taking place about this video.
The beating was justified because you don't do such things to your friends by disrespecting their relationship.
The guy doing the beating is throwing a temper tantrum and displaying toxic masculinity and being extremely violent.
The possibility that the GF of this man may be in danger herself because of (see number 2)
What is interesting is more people are concerned about the potential danger the girlfriend is in, more so then the beat down the guy received. Nobody really seems to care that this guy was basically jumped and setup, was beat pretty bad, filmed and tried to make an example of.
I've seen numerous examples of this on reddit, any video showing a guy getting assaulted (especially if it has trigger points) is cheered, celebrated and often condoned as a method in which interactions with men should be handled.
This is what is having such negative effects on the male population as a whole. Every guy watching that video was thinking "damn, I'm glad that wasn't me getting my ass whooped like that" while hearing society tell them that this is what happens to men who are viewed as have done something "wrong".
This creates a physchological pattern where men themselves show indifference towards one another because we are being led to believe that if a guy gets the shit beat out of him then he deserves it. That thier are reasons/instances where you can expect to have the shit kicked out of you even if you have not done anything violent or harmed another person with your actions. That society as a whole expects men to hold one another accountable by such actions for said societal infractions and will be cheered on if they do.
What's even more disturbing is knowing that the only reason this guy got beat on was because this guys GF wanted it to happen. Lets assume that yes, he did indeed request nudes from this guys girlfriend. Lets also assume that this was actually this guys friend, not just an acquaintance and he knew the girl in question was in a relationship with this other man.
Lets assume all of that is true, then that means the GF purposely told her boyfriend about this. Once she told him she knew what he was going to do, watching this mans reaction and extreme violence would suggest that he inferred bodily harm was going to happen to this guy to his girlfriend when she told him. Also, this video took place and that means the girlfriend either was unsuccessful at preventing her boyfriend from attacking this guy or approved of it happening.
So, society is telling men to protect women, that violence against other men is ok especially if its "justifiable" and not only that but suggested to be violent towards other men. When society sees a man take a beating like this the only real concerns seem to be what he is capable of doing to his GF now that they saw him whoop this guys ass. That beating this dude so bad isn't as bad as this guy's temper tantrum and toxic masculinity.
All of that because men are disposable, this guy getting beat on was only for societies enjoyment. For societies revenge boners and societies incestuous need to see men hurt other men as long as in doing so women are safe.
Its disheartening to see the mixed messages all the time about what makes "real men" and how "men need to stand up for women" when nobody is talking about men standing up for other men! Where was this stint in the Gillet commercial? Where was the talk about mob justice and street justice being performed on men outside of the law enforcement?
Where is the talk about why we treat men as nothing more then disposable tools for societies bidding even when that bidding goes against mens own self interests?
