I'm glad to see it. Hopefully progress will be made on getting at least one domestic abuse shelter for men (in the UK, Canada or America). Currently, Canada has 0 domestic abuse shelters for men/boys and there are 0 rehabilitation programs for female abusers:

As a man who was subjected to physical violence, brought up on family violence charges for defending myself and OVERCAME the case...lived through violence all the while I was fighting the case...its about fucking time. Where are our refuges? Where are our support programs? Where is our God damn justice?

No one was there to answer the phone when it was my baby and I and a psychopath woman who used violence to keep me silent.

Edit: First, I would like to admit I was wrong for the last sentence. I really shouldn't have said that.a lot of you have made some great points below and im not above recognizing I took a shallow view of things with that comment.

Second all that was said above that comment happened. It was traumatic and life altering. I want to see more changes in a positive direction for men.

Third, a lot of people look for someone or something to blame when life is unfair and unkind. I haven't talked about this stuff for a while and I'm glad it came out so i could face how I look at things.

Fourth, action is action guys all else is commentary. Some of these people who took me to task for that comment have a damn good point...its up to us to make this change happen. If they did it so can we. History repeats itself.

I used to know a guy in high school that was with this chick that would get extremely aggressive with him all of the time. While I was with them one day she did this triple hop across the room and got him so hard i. The face you could FEEL the pop! She went crazy for a bit and I asked him if he was okay and he said that it “happened all of the time”. They stayed to gather had a couple of kids until he got smart and left. I will never forget that night!

I really wish people would take this stuff seriously, but when it is the girl doing the abusing the male is more likely to get in trouble besides it being thought of as a joke. My ex would hit me(didn't ever leave more than little bruises, nothing anyone would ask about) and say she doesn't remember ever hitting me then cry along with lots of psychological abuse and fucking with my medical conditions. She almost convinced me to kill myself as long as it was because I loved her so much and that she doesn't see(then I ended up in a hospital room for days without eating or drinking without being aloud to use my phone. That shit was terrible and still really fucks with me and makes me. I am lucky they didn't have room to transfer me somewhere they wanted to keep me even longer), but not sure she realized she is why I wanted to die and no she would have made attention posts about it saying it was because I loved her so much if I went through with it. She would say scary shit like that she would kill herself if we ever broke up. I almost feel like she technically raped me a few times after coming home from the ER having no clue what was going on when she would talk me into having unprotected sex when I needed sleep and wanted to be alone. She seemed to fantasize having kids, but I was strongly against having any with all my medical issues, especially with how bad they all were because of her. She was pregnant with some other guy a month later. I kind of think she wanted nothing more than an abusive relationship and kids.

This is just recognizing that abuse comes in many forms and is not always tied to gender.

That’s a great thing to post and make people aware of (men can be victims too after all)

But why post this in this sub??? It just comes across as an angry person venting. This should be about helping those who need help and support find the help and support they need.

Nobody really cares.

You can be hit, screamed at, swung at, made to feel like an absolute nothing...but nobody really cares.

It's not even that they don't believe you. They might. But what will anyone do about it? You are a big strong man, so what if she punched you, or bit you, or swung a bottle of tequila at your head.

I've been laughed at, made fun of, and called a liar. But even the couple's therapist just brushed it under the rug. Yeah, I was fucked up and sometimes on the wrong too, but never, ever, EVER did I lay a finger on her. You just don't do that to anyone you care about.

It is a nice sentiment, and I am doing better now. But to anyone going through this now, know that outside maybe a few close friends, you are on your own. Nobody wants to talk about female domestic abuse, women raping men, or your feelings. Get a good solo therapist and work it out best you can.

It's a long road king, but you gotta do it for you. If you find real help, take it...but don't expect it. Nobody fucking cares.
