This was posted in another sub and the vast majority of posts was about how great it will be for the mother. Not the father getting to spend some worry free time with the new baby. But how wonderful the mother will have help and be able to rest.

This is not given fathers the same parental rights. This is getting them closer to equality, but not actual equality.

This also better for moms in the work place. If they take the same leave there’s no difference between expecting moms and dads searching for and getting promoted for jobs.

Increasing socialism isn't a good thing, though. Parental leave enforced by the state should be abolished (same as any other sort of leave). All leave arrangements should be negotiated between businesses and employees.

Do you know what I genuinely enjoy the most about this, other than fathers spending time with their children. Its the first policy that made progress to closing the pay gap, equally. It creates an opportunity for both parents to be out of the work force, an equal time penalty for both. Who would have thought giving Fathers time off would fix a women's rights issue.
