High school girls admitted to targeting and falsely accusing a boy of sexual assault because they 'just don't like him'. Boy was fired from his job, forced to serve time in a juvenile detention facility, is now home-schooled and suffers psychological trauma. School officials just didn’t care.

Never happy

She doesn't want to have it all?

Men are so privileged to work and never see their families.

I lived this.

What stood out to me is that she said it's been 10 months and he's not suffering anymore. I don't have depression but I don't think you can just pick and choose and say oh well it's been ___ months, guess I have to be okay now

Just give her the added social pressure that if she can't take care of her family working solo then she's a deadbeat wife and mother.

Here comes a wordy one.

It's funny that she doesn't say he doesn't do any house work. She says he has a hard time keeping up with it. Then everyone else assumes that means he does nothing and she has to come home and do "all of the house work". I'm a work-from-home dad with a toddler, a teenager and crippling depression. I can say that it is absolutely exhausting. Sometimes I can't get everything done before my wife gets home from work. You eat and drink on the go. Sometimes I get coffee in the morning and don't get to eat until the evening. Between the playing, feeding, diaper changing, picking up toys, winding down for nap time, taking the dog out, doing laundry, doing the dishes, planning supper, helping the teen with homework, bath time, bed time, and the occasional yard work, you're damn right I'm sleeping until noon when I have a chance. A stay at home parent is on the clock 24/7. Even when working in the home office, I have to stop to help her with the kids the few days of the week she's on mommy duty. Unlike me, she never really has to deal with it solo. But we handle that sh*t. Video games? If I have any time to play video games, it's at night when everyone is in bed and I get ten minutes before falling asleep with the controller in my hand. Lol. Sometimes the laundry doesn't get done the day of. Sometimes the floor doesn't get swept, and my wife is cool with it because her expectations are reasonable. We have no idea what the woman in this OP is expecting or what she's actually coming home to. Stay-at-home dad's of today understand the stay-at-home mom's of yesterday. Now working mom's of today are undstanding the working dad's of yesterday. Correction, most dads of today are still working. Since we live in an economy that's almost impossible to stay afloat with one working parent, regardless of genitalia.

My point is, we don't really get a full perspective on this story. It's a one sided tale with several opportunities for nothing more than subjectivity and illussions of inequality and unfair opportunities. She very well could be complaining irrationally and he very well could be a dead beat. But I'm inclined to think this is her stress levels talking more than anything. Especially since she said he only struggles to get the house work done and admits that she's stressed with the financial burdens, as well as jealous of not being home with the baby as much as she'd like. She sees them bonding and is right to want that too. Not to mention, being with someone struggling with depression is taxing for the soul. Maybe she needs him to run that bath water by candle light from time to time. Give her a glass of whine, rub her shoulders and say "Suck it up buttercup. You're a strong working woman and tomorrow is a brand new day."

the article obviously paints the mother as the victim, the poor poor mother who has to be the breadwinner while the partner gets to stay home and raise the baby. I guess when a man is at home raising a child it's not "unpaid emotional labor" anymore huh? All of a sudden he also needs to do even more:

"I want him to have free time, but if you can’t get housework or job hunting done while the baby is awake, get up earlier and do it while she’s asleep!"

Essentially this is what she really wants:

"I also can’t shake the feeling that I want to stay home," she explained. "I’ve always loved my job, but now going to work is miserable for me. My husband says that his working isn’t going to make me happier with my job, but I think the end of financial stress will end my jealousy."

She wants to be the one at home raising their child, while the father once again becomes the traditional breadwinner. She feels how most fathers feel when they have a child.

I've recently become a father as well and have had the opportunity to spend the first month at home caring for our baby. Now that time has come to an end and i too would give up my job just to be able to raise our child, unfortunately i am the sole breadwinner which makes this impossible. While I don't resent my partner for raising the child while I'm at work, we also don't have the luxury to be jealous of one another. In a way this article hits home and simultaneously infuriates me because it seeps with entitlement.
