Ummm once you have children, that's typically what you're called... And kinda your job. You could just be like every other scumbag and let the schools and other people raise your children. You already did your job having them, right? Your children only stay children for a few years and then they grow up. How awful can you be to not appreciate the years that you get to spend with them, to teach them, to cuddle with them, and do all the things that create memories with them so that they know how to do it for their children? Any woman that says this can go kick rocks.

Okay, to play the Devil’s Advocate…I’ve heard ALL MY LIFE how horrible it is to be a mother. Women seem to take it as inevitable that everyone has to feel extremely sorry for them having to be responsible for their own children. Apparently all of society is to be responsible for women’s choice to have their own children. It’s ironic that I know many single fathers and they have literally NEVER complained to me about how hard it is to be a single father. I’ve also never known a single mother who didn’t complain about being a single mother. My mother was a single mother and nothing I say here is meant to be negative toward single mothers, I am just saying that I’m tired of the complaints…coupled with the assumption men somehow have it so much easier as parents.

Also for my whole life I’ve wanted to be a father. The main reason I haven’t been a father is that the women who I would make a mother in the process are so adamant that I have to be a perfect man, with the perfect house and perfect job in order to be an acceptable choice of mate, that they are unwilling in MOST (but not all) cases to accept becoming a mother for the sake of our both having children mutually together. It may seem to be redundant to say “mutually together,” but I say it because women -particularly feminists- seem to see all children that are had in the regular way (not by artificial insemination, completely under their control) as requiring a man to support financially nearly 100%. Assuming not every birth is the result of rape, that means most women have children because they decided to. Therefore they are at least one of the responsible parties to the child existing…yet you rarely hear that said. Women somehow didn’t make the decision mutually, or somehow it wasn’t don’t together…It’s always somehow someone taking advantage of them…at least in the Feminist viewpoint (which seems to have infiltrated much of society by now).

Very few women I know are entirely willing to take on the financial support of their children…not 50% or even 30%. Feminists somehow expect that their male partners are absolutely required to put in more than 50% of the children’s financial burden. There are MANY women I know her are exceptions, but those women are about 5% to 10%. Most women I’ve been with have told me how men MUST support them while they are caring for the children…no matter how financially independent they are. Women’s money is THEIR money, and men’s money is EVERYONE’S.

I think that the expectation that women be entirely responsible for children is wrong, but it is also an anachronism. MOST men aren’t 1950s husbands who expect dinner on the table when they come home and the woman to do all the child care. We need to stop having that mindset from nearly two generations ago, but that’s the definition of “modern America” that Feminists continually fall back on. “Now” is always 1950s suburban nuclear family life. Ironically Feminists have repeatedly insisted that we are NOT in the 1950s, while still expecting men to act like we are in the 1950s.

Real equality means men and women both caring for children equally, passed whatever age they are actually biologically required to be dependent on their mother for milk and for bonding as children naturally do in the first 3-4 years or so. Yes, it’s hard to be a mother for 4 years or so, in a way men are not actually evolutionarily able to be parents to the same degree…but men STILL HAVE AN ESSENTIAL ROLE in children’s development at those ages. Men aren’t only a pocketbook for women when they are pregnant and breastfeeding. Men also have an essential role in children’s development. It’s just a different role (normally).

So to address the, “Men don’t get how depressing it is to not have a life outside being a mother,” idea…MEN DO GET IT!!! We have heard it so much that we have empathy desensitization. We can’t possibly give mothers ANYTHING MORE than we currently do, to prove we get that it’s hard to be a mother. However, I’ve also seen a gigantic percentage of single mothers who CHOOSE TO NOT HAVE A LIFE OUTSIDE OF BEING A MOTHER!!!

How many mothers have you seen who used to have their faces all over Facebook until they become mothers and then it’s ALL pictures of their children and they are nowhere to be seen from that point on. Most mothers seem to never return to normal life after becoming mothers. IS THAT MEN’S FAULT?!! No!!! Men have absolutely nothing to do with that. Depressed mothers do it. Well-provided for mothers do it. Independently wealthy mothers do it. Nearly all the mothers I know do that. If it’s so depressing and if men don’t understand, why do so many women willingly and even willfully disappear from their posts and just post their family (minus themselves)?

Who is making them do that?! Do men DEMAND their wives stop posting about themselves and only post about the children?! No!!! Men are happy to have their wives have a life outside of being mothers. It’s WOMEN who do this to themselves. They isolate themselves to be mothers. They choose to deal with the EMOTIONS of motherhood by throwing out all other human interaction and concentrating on their kids.

You can’t convince me that all the many, many women I see do this everywhere, are doing it involuntarily. I’m supposed to believe single women or women in relationships, or every other kind of situation…even women in polyamorous triads, are ALL being forced into that supposedly depressing life because no one knows how hard it is to be a mother? I say BULLSHIT. Women choose to focus their lives on their children and instead of whining about it, they should be proud of it. My single mother was. Women should consider it a wonderful job for the planet that they have chosen to do. They SHOULD be celebrated for it, but they should also not have to demand to be celebrated for it. After all, they are doing something that EVERY MOTHER in their bloodline all the way back to Eve (I say rhetorically, not religiously), has done!!! Mothers do that, and should be able to accept that is part of LIFE. It isn’t forced on them by men or by other women or by society.

When will women stop thinking the basic ennui that EVERYONE feels in life, is caused by others? Why must we always see mothers as victims?! They are winning the reproductive evolutionary jackpot. They are reproducing and raising a family. If they were salmon they would lay their eggs and die…But no, these are women who -in nearly all cases- will outlive their husbands and get to see their children go from helpless little blobs of feces and vomit into functional adults that can successfully reproduce themselves. Celebrate that life of motherhood, don’t complain that somehow nature didn’t give you a different role to play.

Right. Either be a grateful and proper housewife and mother... or be "free" (aka alone and miserable) and completely abandon your post and responsibilities.

The only ones that begrudge the joy and, indeed, the privilege of true motherhood are those that don't understand what they're missing without it, and don't really deserve it anyway with that attitude. But, oh, let someone try to tear their kids away from them and suddenly their truer colors shine.

Btw... stop speaking for Men unless you are one, living with the same reality Men are dealt.

Statistically men don't try to get visitation for their own kids, only 4% of disputes get to a judge. And child support ir for the child, most times the mother has to work to support that kid too.

Oh my god, then just play a mother simulator if you don’t want to take the necessary steps to make sure your baby is taken good care of. My mom put me in programs like the YMCA and after-school programs while she had to work but also took the time to make sure I was loved even thought she worked exhausting hours. She’s now 42 and has about every illness in the book and now is on dialysis, but she said it was worth it because she wanted me to have a great childhood. I myself don’t even have a life outside of training for my career because I refuse to let her efforts go to waste. If you’re complaining about merely staying at home with your baby, PLEASE give the child to an actual adult that understands how responsibility works.
