My wife complained I don’t do enough around the house. I pointed out she cut down to 24 hours a week when we had our first kid, and I still do 50.

When I then continued to factor the hours I put in at home as well compared to her, she chilled out when she realized I still put about 10 hours more work than her.

Funny how people can’t see beyond their nose occasionally.

So much for the "roles have shifted". I don't know any couples where the woman makes more than the man and I'm old.

Edit: She seems to have one foot out of the relationship. He should prepare as he is the stay at home parent. He could get the kids, the house, alimony and child support. This happened to a female friend of mine. She's still paying CS and alimony many years later. She basically can't move on from that relationship like most men find themselves.

What happened to "traditional masculinity is toxic"? Now he's breaking the gender role by reversing the role and she doesn't want him anymore.

"Men should break their gender roles" is just a politically correct statement on social media in order to look nice towards the audience. In reality, you will be rejected for relationship if you don't perform.

All I hear feminist exclaim is "fuck traditionalist values" and I would raise my glass to that. However, They don't mean it. What they're actually saying is that they want all the benefits without any of the responsibilities.

It's only "fuck traditionalist values" until it no longer benefits you. Look at the Ukraine war. Feminists screaming how women are most affected, but then also saying how they'd rather be a house wife than go to war. Men don't have the luxury in having that option.

The comment which points out women want men to work less and make more, and work but also be around more to help out at home really struck me. This is exactly what I've experienced. It's these ridiculously unreal expectations which are so hard to deal with.

I like that people are letting her have it in the comments. But it's still crazy to me that any woman has the audacity to complain about this. Living proof that a lot of women straight up HATE men who make less than they do. How many songs have to be written by women about their disdain for less wealthy men; how many women have to get on TV and get paid for complaining about this to the thunderous applause of other women; and how many bullshit excuses do we have to digest before we admit that this is a societal standard that is held up by women far more than men?

my wife works very hard and she helps out around the house. recently asked me to quit my stressful job (i had been main bread winner for last 7-8 years since we bought our first house). Motivated me to start a new career at 37, partnering up and learning together. In return, I do more housework and take care of kids at home because she's busy with her job but she still helps out when she can.

fuck off feminists. we don't talk about men vs women here. Men and women should be on the same team!

and come on there's no fairness in life and no equality. Fair or not fair is what my toddlers complain about. There's only cooperation and team work in a successful relationship.

To most western women, equality is when you are their sexless work mule who provides them with ease. If you are a bio-male, even if a trans-woman, and you do not financially support a bio-female, you are shamed and scorned for it. There are negative professional consequences.

While I'm married, and support my wife, she's a traditional wife. She looks to me to lead, she makes this house a home, and provides me with ready affection every moment that she's able.

My wife and I make the same income, and I love it. I’m not an ambitious person, content with upper middle class. She’s the same way. Both of us have skills and education, just not drive, so we combine two average salaries to live an upper middle class lifestyle. Love raising a family with this woman. She gets it. We’ve never pretended to be anything but ourselves, and we don’t export our life’s happiness on the other person.
