He has interesting guests sometimes, but he's been getting worse as his subscriber count goes up. He tries too hard to sound more intelligent than he is and speaks with this convoluted vocabulary. He's off-putting and impatient with guests that don't give him an answer he wants.

I can also tell he's jaded by his experiences with women as he is obsessed with conversations around what's going wrong in modern dating, relationships, sex, and why women don't want to reproduce.

For me I really liked him to begin with but after a few episodes I noticed his smug ‘I’m so clever because I have read journal articles’ voice. Bro it’s not a mark of a genius to read a journal article. Yeah he’s obsessed with women having/ not having children . I had to laugh at yesterday’s episode when he said he’s going to very carefully vet his children’s friends - yeah good luck with implementing who your 13 year old decides to become friends with mate. Used to enjoy his podcast, but over time he has become insufferable. Now he just sounds like all he want's to do is show off some new 'concept' or 'paradox' to all his guests, to show his knowledge, even when they're not relevant at all.

The episode on Joe Rogan was particularly hilarious for this, literally just sounded like he was reciting ideas he'd been revising, when they weren't really relevant to the convo, just to sound knowledgable

I think if you are concerned about male mental health then talk about men how they can improve their mental health, support each other, challenge male on male violence but what he tends to do is steer the conversation to women and what women are doing. Women are better educated, women are 'boss bitches', financially independent all of this is said in a negative way to imply that the rise of female autonomy hurts men instead of focussing on what that does for women and encouraging men to adapt to modern society which is the only choice as women aren't going to give all of that up. If a guest challenges something then he goes quiet and he won't continue down that route. He says he doesn't like opinionated read intellectual women. I guess he feels embarrassed if his world view is challenged by a female. He needs to be the cleverest one in the room which points to a further insecurity.

So the implication is that women should be complimenting men more. Women don't compliment men as much as something sexual could be read into it. He would never say for example that men should compliment other men. The onus is on women always to look after the health of other women and men and to change for men. Instead of focussing on men. It's a distraction tactic, don't look here look over there at what the women are doing.

He really pisses me off. Occasionally he will have a good guest but the evo psych anti female stuff made me unsubscribe to it.

i saw a few episodes of the guy and I thought he seemed like a fraud the look in his eyes. It seemed like he was trying to pretend to be someone he's not, that's just the impression I got. Then I went to his twitter and I see a photo of him trying to pretend to be a ripped alpha male and that's when I knew it was confirmed. TBH I think most people on youtube are just frauds looking to get attention and make money and don't care about the topic or helping others

I was checking on him upon listening to a couple of his episodes he did with Steven Bartlett (spoty) because I was sensing this extreme outdated masculine vision of the females world and I felt so annoyed 🤮 listening to all that bullshit.

It might be based on studies, but studies are relative to the population sampled, so perfectly can be just junk number put together to support or advocate for some rubbish ideas.

It's funny because he brought Alex Datepsych for an interview who clearly put to rest a lot of the bullshit he tries to regurgitate every single episode and you could tell he was uncomfortable with it. Glad I found this post. Have listened to a few modern "wisdom" podcasts over the last year or so but I must've chosen quite wisely. Everything of his I've tried to listen to recently I've had to switch off. I didn't realise how right wing and pig headed this bloke was & his views on women are reproduction are insane. Just another man trying to tell women how they should think and feel. Disgusting and depressing.

The way he can't hold back his laughter when talking with Douglas Murray about " gays for gaza" made me sick. How dare he laugh at such words of hate for people. Homaphobic little boy who ghinks he's cleverer than he is. Pathetic excuse for a man.

I honestly thought he might be on the spectrum after watching him for the first time. He doesn't blink when looking into the camera, and barely shows emotion. A lot of his guest's jokes seem to go over his head. He is pretty boring to listen to. Like near Zero Charisma. I agree with others, he fancies himself an intellectual - don't we all....But because of this, he has a habit of taking simple concepts that could be briefly explained and makes them overly complicated.

But he's a pretty good-looking guy, he seems to do well on youtube which is a visual medium.

I really like his podcast. I’ve listened to hours and learned a lot. Both from him and his guests. He is eloquent and his grasp and knowledge of the English language is astounding.

Regarding the hypergamy. What exactly has he misunderstood? Go to TT. Every other woman wants a man who is 6ft or taller, and earns a certain amount, drives a certain car, etc. Unbelievable shallow. And what do these women contribute? Fake nails, hair, and eyelashes.

He has an website where he posts an article every week with different pre-set sections. One of them are quotes he likes and he quoted The Illimitable Man multiple times. ILM is one of the hardest shades of red you’ll find in the red pill blogosphere, putting forward one of the most unflattering portrayal of women you'll ever find from these people, he calls on men to be manipulative pretty directly(for example see his article where he espouses some 200 "maxims" and the ones on how to be machiavellian). I don’t understand why anyone level headed would follow someone like that.

Any attempt to replace redpill podcasts with "manly but not red pill" podcasts is inevitably going to lead down the same route again.

The problem isn't just the attempt to get you redpilled. Its also circling certain talking points that keeps people in the atmosphere.

Review: Chris Williamson’s “Self Discovery” Show – RACIST AND MISOGYNIST OVERTONES

October 26, 2025 – Danforth Music Hall, Toronto

I attended Chris Williamson’s Self Discovery show in Toronto earlier this evening and was so unsettled by the opening segment that I walked out about 10-minutes into the show.

First of all, the show started an hour late, and in the few minutes that I endured, he made 2-3 references to himself being “famous” and having to deal with fame. I don’t know who told him he’s Axl Rose of Guns N' Roses, but he aint. Trevor Noah sold out the Scotia Bank Arena in Toronto, a 20,000 seat venue, and Chris was at the Danforth Music Hall, which holds 1,500. Check yourself, Chris.

When Williamson finally took the stage, he told the audience that his first few minutes would be controversial and that he wanted to “get it out of the way.” He asked for the house lights to be turned on, explaining that he wanted to see the audience. In retrospect, it seemed as though this was very much calculated and that he wanted to gauge the crowd and get a sense as to the composition of the audience (read-on for an explanation) before deciding how far he could go with his remarks.

He began by referencing the land acknowledgement that Canadians have committed to as part of our Truth and Reconciliation promise, mocking it and claiming that the land had been, and I quote, “stolen from the British.” He then spoke about walking through downtown Toronto earlier in the afternoon, and expressed surprise at how “it didn’t look like Canada anymore,” making pointed comments about the number of brown people he saw. He went on to joke that former Prime Minister Trudeau’s past decision to wear brownface had “paid off politically.”

Williamson also made derogatory remarks about Meghan Markle, reducing her to a crude sexual reference (literally referring to her as nothing more than a “va—na”) and implying that she had ruined Prince Harry and the monarchy, alluding to her race. He followed this with an offhanded joke about anti-Semitism, suggesting he should change his name to “Chris Williamstein” and then joked about how he should become an anti-Semite, then almost as an afterthought, muttered “just joking” under his breath.

I sat there in my seat, absolutely stunned. For someone who promotes himself as a thought leader in personal development and self-awareness, Williamson’s comments were not only shocking, but deeply disappointing, offensive, and completely out of touch.

If his intention was to experiment with comedy or provoke thought through controversy, he failed to recognize that addressing sensitive topics requires nuance, intelligence, and empathy. There are ways to challenge audiences and use humor to explore difficult issues without resorting to racism, sexism, or disrespect.

Mocking Indigenous experiences in Canada—after generations of systemic oppression and cultural erasure—is not “edgy” or in any way funny. It is harmful. The same applies to racial and gender-based ridicule masquerading as comedy.

This experience has fundamentally changed my view of Chris Williamson. I will no longer support his work and hope others reflect critically on the dissonance between his message of self-awareness and the prejudice he displayed on stage.

So I remember Chris from his club promoter days in Newcastle. He was always a questionable guy. Spent most of his time chatting up extremely young girls and off his nut on ket. Yeah he may have changed since then but I’d rather not take advice from him.

He was good in episodes with Alex hermosie, Rory Sutherland episode was okay, Matthew McConaughey was interesting but like everyone saying, they both just try way too hard to say intelligent and wise things and sound profound instead of having a discussion. Just my opinion. The older content was good and that's why I started listening but the more recent content is mostly boring.

He does have a great podcast set up and setting though.

I think his popularity says a lot about our current culture- the fact that a former model, trash TV personality and guy who used to make his money getting drunk students into clubs has become a key arbitrator of public discourse. I mean contrast that with founder of rebel wisdom who had years of experience in journalism. Basically if abba and preach tried to position themselves as a semi respectable forum of cultural discourse.

In one way it's good - he clearly did have some kind of existential crisis and did some growing up. And no doubt he's a smart guy. But I notice his introspective phase didn't lead him to become a youth worker or counsellor or to undertake academic training or something.

No..it lead him to become a podcaster who now sells energy drinks and supplements as he interviews various figures that..broadly..fall on the kind of center/ center right / side relish of soft pink left.

Again that's not wrong ..it's just it's the same pattern a lot of the other 'bro' pod casters follow. It's now a well established market with sponsorship deals at the ready..even as it makes a show of hosting a 'wide range' of guests. And we all know who the progenitor of the model is.. yeah the one Spotify had to pay hundreds of millions to.

In the orbit if this gargantuan whale many smaller species can exist. But the business model has matured.

For me the 'responsible manosphere' commentary is kind of shallow trick- I find it's all an over convoluted way of saying that men don't need to be some ridiculous stereotype of Andrew Tate but they do need to take responsibility for their lives, pursue a conscious direction for it and ..yes..try to look after their physical body as an outward sign of inner self control. Yes the business of love and sex has an aspect of competition..no way around it..and it's not all butterflies and harps.

Actually even the bat shit crazy end of the red pill sector seems to START saying reasonable sounding stuff like that but then..like boiling a frog in water.. adds in ascending levels of Cray Cray.

Functionally they begin attracting a certain audience, they get sponsorships /membership payments based on that. and then this becomes a self reinforcing cycle that rebel wisdom described as 'audience capture'.

I am sure Williamson has realised that to continue his level of growth he will end up getting sucked into the established brand equity of the market he is serving where people expect friendly 'bro' chats with brocco Wilson or Theo Von etc.

We will see whether the desire for popularity wins out against facing a potential decision to end/downscale his operations before they develop well beyond his ability to control them.

But each pundit has a massive enough ego to believe they could be the one smart enough to navigate through the effects of audience capture ..but they are usually wrong.

In fact rebel wisdom is an interesting example as they made the (to me wise) decision to end the platform whilst it was still just about able to ride the tidal wave of the culture war death spiral..basically quit while their ahead once their ability to do that was coming to an end.

You can see the amount of flack they got from the section of the audience who thought they were another 'contrarian' media source - 'contrarian' in this case meaning a source that fed milquetoast reactionary ideas back to them.. IE what they wanted to hear.

Shitting on Jordan Peterson? A big no no for that part of their audience. And rebel wisdom realised they would either have to get pushed further into catering for this kind audience capture..to avoid offending the market share who doesn't want criticism of Jordan Peterson...or change course and do something more low key.

But I guess we'll see what happens. I have little doubt that, in between Williamson's massive ego, is at least a genuine desire to be a 'voice of reason' in the manosphere topics.

I’ve never liked him.

He doesn’t really have conversation skills. He seems very vain and contrived. Lacks authenticity.

And I think the biggest annoyance I have towards him is that he tries to sound smart with using expensive words, but he uses these words in sentences and thoughts which aren’t his own. He seems like he sits around and reads quotes of guests and then keeps repeating those to new guests. So we’re not really getting to know him, but rather a veneer he has on. I think he does this because he’s actually quite vapid if you stripped away the words of others.

I don’t like him. But I think the guests he can have in are quite good.

Certainly, a degree of healthy discussion about what appears to be plaguing society, or even just Chris for that matter is productive, however, I can’t help but notice his preoccupation with rumination over negative stereotypes. This constant reiteration of negative aspects of what it’s like to be a man in today’s world just screams of his own underlying psychological issues that remain unresolved, so much so that he doesn’t even realize he’s doing this.

I just discovered Chris Williamson. First off, let's get real. Chris is a total hotbox.🔥 He's a cross between Scott Eastwood and Guy Ritchie. Chris's handsome looks is inarguable. Part of the reason for Chris's success is "Pretty Privilege." He doesn't talk about it but he knows it. Chris's looks and masculinity is seductive. It's part of the product he's selling. Chris is also intelligent and has charisma. Chris Williamson is a package that girls pine for and young men idolize. Chris is the new Anthony Robbins, expounding upon his struggles to be relatable to the most amount of people. Along with his looks, he shares the wisdom he's learned from his struggles to hook and reel in his audience. Chris lost me when he valorized Joe Rogan and Jordan Peterson. This is by design. Chris could've been inspired by Nietzsche and DeSade but these pesky philosophers would interfere with profits. Populism brings success. Populism brings in money. Chris Williamson is the Andrew Tate of psychology. If people like and learn something from Chris Williamson, good for them, and good for Chris too.
