So I know on this sub, my home country gets dragged through the mud as the worst place for men to ever walk the earth. I want to show people this is not the case. Now I will cavate this that some states have pants on head stupid laws and attitudes. But others are leading the charge. The main one being the ACT or the capital of the country. Which is the actual most progressive state in the nation (much to the hankering of the Victoria state)

Let's starts with what the ACT has done to help men and boys. They changed the rape laws to now be intercourse without consent and is evenly applied to both men and women. This is a massive change

The attitude of the state has changed ALOT over the past 4 years. I should mention that the ACT is on the forefront of lots of policies and attitudes that the rest of the country follows. The crazy, men = the evil of the world was in the ACT in the early 2010's. This has changed and people have mellowed out. We even have feminist organisations that actually acknowledge and supply help to men who were raped , sexually assaulted or sexually abused as children.

Men also aren't treated as scum by police either. The ACT police are staffed by the AFP (federal police aka Aussie FBI) and they do their job well. What I could tell from people around me, that domestic spats the guy isn't the bad guy automatically. Questions come up about what happened and such. That said if you are found to be an abuser (male or female). The attitude is that you are the scum of the earth. It is pretty refreshing that everyone is in agreement that you should respect everyone. This has resulted in some slow change in the DV services in the state but many are starting to come around to help men who are victims such as this one. This group was women only until the last 4 years they now support men

In relation to mental health we have organisations like Mensink who are also now running a sister company to help young people with loneliness and issues with connecting with others.

These are but a fraction of the changes that have happened. It gives me hope that we can have a brighter future for everyone.

I hope this post shows that, change is possible and that people actually care.
