Oh OK. All women are strong and independent, AND equals to boot. But still men have to "watch out" for them, watch their language and make it their business to protect women truckers.

In other words, women want all the privileges of traditional women with none of the responsibilities of traditional women.

Resist these shaming tactics and call to "chivalry".

How welcoming and supportive are women to men when they enter (or try to) have a career in a female-dominated industry? Not at all. They're met with suspicion or outright hostility.

I've been a truck driver in America now for something like 16 years. I've meet a few women drivers but I've never seen them treated any differently. If anything they are looked at with a bit more respect because it would be harder to be a women in the field. To all their suggestions though, have they ever met one? The things you have to do to survive sometimes makes you rather crude to normal society.

There are many places that refuse to allow anyone to use restrooms, but will hold you up for hrs. They are in places that are empty of anything, so you can't just walk to a store and most won't allow you to leave and come back later. So what options do you have other then pissing somewhere. As a man this is rather easy to accomplish, just piss in a bottle and toss it in the trash when you can. A women however is a bit more complicated and has fewer options.it can get rather bad with stomach issues, and I won't go into those days.

I know I'm worried when I have to walk in a unlit parking lot haha a mile to the store, so it would take a lot for a women to do the same. I've had things stolen right in front of me and gave had people try to break into my truck while sleeping. These aren't really gender issues, but you have to have guts to sleep in some places. You're also not really allowed to have weapons in the truck by company rules, and so many different states having different laws makes it really difficult to do legally too.

Now every women I've met that drives a truck is a bit crazy, but the men are too. You're in isolation for long periods and most just can't deal with that. The women that complain about it being a man's job wouldn't last a week. Then again when I started just about everyone was done within the first month (for context 136 started the school, 60 something got their CDL, 15 made it through training, 3 lasted a year). While it's much easier now, there are still somethings that are a bit to hard for normal folks. I don't think I'd ever meet a truck driver that talked down to another driver that happened to be a women, just for being one. If anything it's the women who will start shit, and that's more out of fun then anything.

There are a lot of gorgeous female truck drivers here in Japan. I have no idea if they get any special privileges though. But I would be surprised if they were not really minor things.

There are quite a few women truck drivers in the industry. I am not one, but I work with truck drivers every day.

I haven't heard any complaints from the men or women about working together. Usually people's personalites mesh or they don't. Either way, it doesn't have anything to do with their sex, but more to do with their work ethic, their annoying personal habits, or how much they talk during long team trips.

There are a few times when both smaller men and women have had trouble moving dollies on an incline (pulling several hundred pounds uphill is hard for a lot of people). When this happens, they either ask another driver for help, or have a yard dog help them out.

I've seen 80 year old male drivers who are still working and still doing a great job. Most of job entails being able to navigate, communicate, take instructions, and work as a team. Only a small portion of the job is physically intense. Usually, what leads drivers to leave or get fired is their lack of ability to follow instructions and be respectful. There are also those who get into way too many accidents due to being distracted on their phones or substance abusing.

So, if you want to talk about the problems in the industry, I would say great - there are many! But women aren't one of them, as I've witnessed. Usually the men fess up to doing dumb things like pooping on someone's dolly out of spite, getting into fights at the fuel station, or dumping 100 piss bottles into the company trash can on a 100 degree day, and wondering why flies are swarming.....

Honestly, the female drivers are the ones cleaning up after these guys most of the time, and not saying anything because they are afraid of being labeled as outsiders.

And you know what the worst thing about this is?

Eventually when the entire truck driving industry is forced to adhere to cater to women, the women who take over will be allowed to be rude to, be sexist against, talk s**t about and gossip about men. Because that's apparently okay as it's "empowering women" and "punching up".
