Every day I am so sad. I have been with my boyfriend for about 10 months now. We started as an agreed upon short term relationship. Not fwb, but actual like boyfriend girlfriend stuff. This started because we both live in a remote area and both haven't had a lot of relationship experience- we're each other's second boyfriend and girlfriend. I have a very specific type of man I like, which is rare, and he fulfills that. This trait isn't commonly seen as attractive in men. We decided screw it, we are both 25 and just want the experience of being with somebody, having somebody to be with and sleep next to again. We are not long term compatible. He's always wanted more with me. He wants me to be his girlfriend for life. I am the one holding back because I see our fundamental incompatibility. However, I was too weak to be alone. I live with an elder family member. My boyfriend's mom is pretty unstable and he refers to her as his abuser, and she's been physically abusive to him by hitting his ears before, but none outside of that that I know of. I see what he's talking about, but I haven't seen so bad of a side of her yet, and honesly, she never started having issues with me until I started doing disrespectful and irresponsible things around the house that I'm embarrassed of. She kicks me out one day and boyfriend asks if he can move in with me, since he has been tired of his mom his whole life anyways and the whole point of this relationship was to not be lonely. He's been wanting to move out bad and she's been a helicopter mom preventing him from doing that. He tried moving out the January before we met (we met in July of last year) and she intervened with that and prevented it. I ask my family member, also unstable, but has matured significantly in the past couple of years, and she says yes he can live here. He's here now, and I'm glad that if he moves out now at least he can do it peacefully and thoroughly and not have to do it while living with his mother, who would have stalked him just like before. When he first moved here, she stalked us for weeks coming up in her car and parking on random spots on the street and watching us from afar, for God knows what. She's come over uninvited, and we never gave her the address. We live in a small town, so she drove over to our town and drove past every single house (our population is like 5,000) to find where he car was parked, that's how she found out our address. She showed up to his work, where she used to work with him as well until she used up all her unpaid time and the system automatically fired her, and tried to chase him down one day in the semi private parking lot where only employees are to be (note, it's a warehouse, so there IS no public part of it, so she was kind of trespassing, and abusing the fact that she knew how to get in there and stuff since it was her previous place of work. He goes into work one day few weeks after we move in together and she yells to him, "where do you think you're going" and physically chases him and tries to grab him. His managers are concerned and send him to HR. Thanks to her, they now have new security measures set in place in the parking lot. When he met with HR that day, they advise him to cut contact which he wanted to do anyways. He's with a police officer there and the police officer helps him phrase a text to her to make sure that she can't contact him without him being able to get her into legal trouble. We're in a bunch of debt from eating out because my family member is very strange about who can use the kitchen and stuff. She now seems remorseful, but that doesn't help now, after we've already landed debt. We also keep accumulating debt because we both have bad coping skills, you know how I said we're incompatible? It's because we're both too sensitive. So being around him only depresses me. And then when I'm depressed I act in ways that stress him. And then when he's stressed I wanna die because I can't take being around his sad ass energy. I found out he was submissive the 3rd day together and at that point I knew I fucked up but was too weak and wanted to be with somebody to walk away. I didn't feel any chemistry on the first day, but that solidified it. So, when he's stressing about our stuff we have going on, he's always grumbling or something, UNDERSTANDABLY, I'm not heartless, I know he has good reason to be stressed, but he is even more sulky and mopey than ME, and I am the QUEEN of sulking and moping, so thats really bad. It depresses me when he cant just chill out. I'm not saying it in a heartless I just want him to not be effected way. I mean when I try to bring a positive light to a situation and tell him that hey we can be stressed and still try to be in the moment, he can NOT do that, and that's one of my few positive mental traits, and I'm so heartbroken that's being ripped from me and shat on. I'm at a loss for what to do.
