My dude, prepare for the worst and hope for the best. I just spent 75k to finish my divorce. Took a year to get temporary hearings, then another 4 months to get a final hearing, and she cried uncle right before trial. Cheap and divorce don't go in the same sentence for most of us. If she is willing to give you 50/50 Custody, no child support, no alimony and split everything else down the middle, sign it and save yourself a year+ of stress and suffering. I had to fight for every inch.

It’s more like a % of your marital estate.

If you act like a “Grey Rock” from here on out, the percentage is lower.

If you didn’t cheat, and your wife didn’t cheat, idk. If someone is all pissed off and hurt, it gets very expensive fast (even if you want to keep it cheap and they are the cheater).

First question the lawyers ask (I talked to 10) is how much you make, how much your spouse makes, and how much debt/equity is in the estate. They set their hourly rate based on that unless you got referred by someone they want to impress.

You want a cheap mediated divorce? Your spouse better not hate you and you better not have kids. $$$ dollar signs and fear make people go crazy. That’s what divorce is about and why grey rock is the best strategy.

Just get a lawyer now, and stop talking to her about anything except the kids. Uncontested divorces are impossible with a child, sorry.
