I've learned that MGTOW is an off-branch from the Men's Rights Movement, which is why I'm posting this in r/MensRights. Keep in mind that this is entirely derived from my own beliefs and opinion. I didn't conduct any research so its fine if you disagree with me but at least hear me out. I've posted this in other subreddits such as r/offmychest and not only did they delete my post but they also permanently banned me. I'm not sure why this is happening so abruptly since I'm relatively new to reddit. What's worse is that they never explained to me on what's wrong with my post that got me banned. I'm only expressing my own opinion about MGTOW. I'm not attacking anyone and I never intended to. If r/MensRights wants to delete my post then I'm fine with it but please don't ban me. I just want my voice to be heard by others.

Back in 2015 when I was still in high school, I’ve noticed that society has been very gynocentric. There are instances where women would harm men and if the man were to fight back in self defense, he would be viewed as the perpetrator. There are also times where a woman would accuse an innocent man of sexual assault without any evidence and that man’s life would ultimately be ruined. I find it absolutely disgusting that this is the kind of society I live in. Needless to say, I was in distraught and very angry. I didn’t understand why society was like this. I was aware that women on average are weaker than men and they have a higher reproductive value, but that doesn’t justify putting men at an unfair disadvantage. In the end, we’re all human beings. That’s when I’ve discovered the MGTOW (Men Going Their Own Way) movement from some videos I’ve found on YouTube. As I learned more about the movement, I started to understand why society has become so gynocentric.

When I first discovered the MGTOW movement, I learned that its about men who are focusing on their goals while avoiding relationships with women because they’re living in a gynocentric society. MGTOW made me fully aware of that such as the biased divorce court system and the false rape accusations. I was aware on the different hardships that women face, but MGTOW helped me open my eyes on how cruel society can be towards men as well. Men are generally more expendable than women mainly because that women have more reproductive value. So I can see why men tend to get the shorter end of the stick in society, and MGTOW helped me understood that.

Nonetheless, I’ve seen MGTOW being portrayed as a misogynistic group of incels across various social media platforms. People tend to believe that MGTOW is primarily about men despising women, and I can understand that since there are men in the MGTOW movement that have this kind of behaviour. The problem is we don’t know who these men are or what they’ve been through to behave that way, so we really can’t pass judgement on them in terms of whether or not they’re misogynistic incels. Maybe they’re a bunch of trolls that claim to be MGTOW but there’s no way to know that. However, I believe I can provide a general explanation on why the people in the MGTOW movement expresses this hatred towards women.

First off, I want to go back on talking about gynocentrism in our society. As I mentioned before, men are generally more expendable than women. That’s one factor that makes society gynocentric. Another factor is that crimes are overtly caused by men relative to women. Given that women are generally weaker than men, they are more vulnerable to these crimes. So it makes sense that the laws are made in a way that favours women over men. I can see why certain double standards exist in todays society such as a male pedophile getting beaten to a pulp while a female pedophile gets a slap on the wrist. Men are often viewed as the perpetrators while women are often viewed as the victims.

If you’re a man who learned about society putting men at an unfair disadvantage, its natural to get angry and that is part of the MGTOW movement. It’s called the “Red Pill Rage.” For most people, it can be very difficult to contain that anger so they got to unleash it to something or someone to make themselves feel better. Therefore, I believe that this hatred towards women is what men in the MGTOW movement express as a way to unleash their anger in order to blow off steam. They are not being misogynistic for sake of it and they’re not behaving like incels. It’s just difficult for them to contain their anger. Therefore, I can understand why MGTOW men across various social media platforms are posting pictures and videos that are berating women. A good chunk of MGTOW men are also berating white knights and simps.

I can say a similar thing about feminists. Since society was dominated by men in the past and crimes are mostly committed by men, women are generally at a disadvantage and become more vulnerable. Its natural that people who are fighting for women’s rights gets angry about this and they want to berate men for this. Some women express misandry or they want to avoid men at all costs because of this which I perfectly understand. So it’s not really surprising to me that feminism enforced society to be gynocentric. As I mentioned previously, men are generally more expendable than women, so it doesn’t seem that society would have a problem for men to have the shorter end of the stick.

To be perfectly honest, I was in that category in the past. As I went through the Red Pill Rage, I despised most women because I assumed that they were taking advantage of the gynocentric system for their own benefit. This mostly happened during my first year in University. I didn’t make any posts in social media that berated women though because I wanted to avoid distractions as much as possible and focus on University. As time went on though, I became more mindful and my hatred towards women eventually reduced. Since men are more expendable and commit more crimes relative to women, it doesn’t seem that this gynocentric system will be going away anytime soon. There are certain things in life that you can’t change, so you have no choice but to accept them, and that is exactly what I did. Afterwards, I truly went on my own way as a real MGTOW, focusing on my future goals and avoiding sexual/romantic relationships. If I can do it, then I believe the other men from the MGTOW movement can do it as well. Even if all women are misandrists, there's no denying that there's a good reason for this. As mentioned before, most crimes are committed by men, especially rape and pedophilia.

To this day, I still consider myself to be a part of MGTOW and I have no regrets. MGTOW is what helped me move forward in my life, making me choose the right decisions for my future goals, which is why I created this post to defend it. It’s not a group of incels, but rather a group of men who are agitated by the fact that society has turned against them. I believe that as time goes by, they will stop expressing their hateful attitude not only towards women but society in general and truly go their own way.

Side Note: I can't really give an opinion about the r/MGTOW subreddit that was banned 2-3 years ago because I was never there. Its been less than a year since I made my reddit account. I've heard that the subreddit was being swarmed by people who are mad that they can't be in a sexual/romantic relationship with women (incels) which was the reason it got banned but I can't really know for sure. In any case, its all in the past now.
