The real question is why did you get married with no intention of children? What exactly does a 'house' wife do when she doesn't work or have children to take care of? I'll tell you what: sleep, watch TV, use ~~her~~ your cellphone, spend your money, and probably gain weight. What exactly is in it for you besides sex? Sex without procreation is a hobby. You're spending a lump sum of what you make while working 12hr shifts just for that.

They are probably just busy bodies that have chosen something that makes them insecure and are focusing on it. Stop talking about it. Gently them that them talking about your marriage is inappropriate. They'll find something else to talk about, only circling around on occasion.

Give them something else to talk about.

Small chance they want to be your wife's friend and they are resenting her because she is not. The nurses I have dealt with tend to have a very active social community, you are not fully a part of the hen network so they are focusing on her. If she really is some sort of modern childfree house wife, tell her that your social lives are also her job as she is a kind of first lady. Might be time she started coming by your work with plates of cookies once a month and setting up parties once a year. But, remember she is not and should not be their friend, so keep some boundaries.

My guess is they're giving you the stink-eye because she's a housewife with no kids. So yeah, there's an implication that she's not doing much of anything since childcare is typically the main reason someone is a housewife.

That being said, your home is your castle. You shouldn't expect others, especially those of the opposite sex, to understand or agree with your lifestyle. Nor should you care.

Furthermore, getting her pregnant (intentionally, otherwise abort), then get married should be the order of operations. I'm considering putting off marriage as long as possible and intentionally having a shotgun wedding to avoid getting married to a woman who's incapable of bearing children, or find out that I can't have children. It's not like i'm religious or anything. Fuck being married and being childless. If you love monogamy that much just date her for like 20 years.

Because they are cunty, unhappy women, particularly if they are over 30 or especially 35, because they're working like men do and what men do, without complaint, isn't easy.

Some years ago there was a book with a title like "Smart Girls Marry Money" or similar and the author was a high-achieving woman who had a bunch of degrees from ivy-type schools and such. What she realized is that, while she was working her ass off, other women she knew were lunching and shopping together and getting hot stone massages, and so WHO was smarter? Her with her Harvard degrees or them?

Anyway, when your co-workers bring it up just say, "Hey, thanks for your advice, but my wife and I have to do what works for us."

as for why they have issues with your lifestyle - it's not worth expending brain power on figuring it out. people these days are way all too into other people's business in all sorts of ways. for some reason everyone thinks they should get a say in everyone else's life. it's just being sad busy bodies because they don't have anything else in their lives going on that is worth paying more attention to.

From now on, just say, "I've decided that I don't want to talk about my home life at work." Leave it there. Don't give them ammunition to use against you.
