I was fat until 19 when I got out of boot camp, at which point I was "skinny" (normal people would call this athletic).

Then I added another 40+lbs of muscle and I'm fairly jacked... I don't need tight fitting clothes for people to know I lift; everyone assumes I'm on steroids (I am now, but spent 14 years natty beforehand).

People treat me different and seek my approval. Definitely not everyone and absolutely don't expect the kind of treatment, these are just observations that I've seen which I'm positive would not have happened had I not gotten big and lean.

Oh, and my wife fucks me a lot more now too.

It raised my self esteem which in turn raised by self respect and mental health. Primarily it allowed me to not give a fuck so much what she thinks or says. If she leaves oh well. I was able to assert firmer boundaries. Instead of giving my energy to her, I turned to back on me and my kids.
