Previously while growing up, like most Men I would think, I had an interest in two things: love and legacy.

Not only did love seem great, but getting married, having kids and leaving behind a legacy seemed great, too.

That notion has been nigh completely stamped out via the things I've seen and heard on this sub. For a man, it's terrifying to know that anything fron romantic notion, to dating, marriage or having kids can go so wrong so quickly.

The general idea was "what's the worst they could say or do?" And now I've been plainly shown that you could lose everything, including your life.

I understand that not all people or relationships are like this, but the sheer amount of things that I saw, such as the horrible divorces or the abuse men have suffered in a marriage- it's certainly scared some sense into me.

Not only do I have almost zero interest in romance, love- or a partner who I could be happy with, but I'd also never want to put kids on this earth where they'd likely be afflicted by this too.

It's sad I think. Some folks out there have said that I'd make a great dad. I would have loved to see my kid taking their first steps or hit their first baseball. I would have loved to have spent those warm summer evenings on the porch with someone I love, picnic with them near the lakes or enjoy the winter with them by a fire.

Those are just no longer options at all though. I think, unless a miracle occured, I just can't leave my life up to chance like that, where my entire life and everything I dreamed could be destroyed on a whim.

No love or legacy is tough, but at least it's safe.
