Women are easier to like, both for men and women. If a woman is young and acts cute/sexy and feminine, she will be seen as adorable/hot by both men and women. Also women are seen as more trustworthy and more valueable in general.

At the same time, what do you think will happen if a man tries to act cute or sexy? You need to be very very attractive to get away with it. Men acting cute are seen as childish and immature, while men acting sexy are seen as creepy and pervy. And the worst part is, they're seen that way both by men and women. The only socially acceptable role for a man is to be a provider who doesn't talk much (and expresses no emotion of course). Every male hobby (including the gym) is looked down upon by society, cause a real man only needs to work and provide, including doing emotional labor for his woman (and doing emotional labor for children or animals is a desirable trait by women exactly for this reason).

But the problem is, this kind of hard-working man society encourages men to be isn't really marketable or attractive at all. Like, nobody likes the "nice guy". But at the same time, if you're not attractive enough, you can't afford to act like a "bad guy" without being shunned by society.

At this point most average and sub5 men are just lost and don't see a point to do anything, while women finally have opportunities to chase any dream they want, and are heavily encouraged by society to do that.
